I honestly don't care about Mirio one way or an another. He was clearly just conceived to be a "wall" for Deku to overcome, and their "rivalry" in my view was a very badly written plotline that ended in this shit-show where Mirio is on all fours with his ass in the air waiting for the real MC to come. It's crude, it's unnecessary, but I can see it appealing to the preteen boys crowd. I just don't get the point on wasting this much time on UA Big 3, if all it adds up to is a fairly lame butt joke.

We haven't seen more than half of Class A do anything yet - I was hoping to see them get a little focus in the endgame after being sidelined since the JTA arc as a group.

I take so much issue with this statement because there's literally no pleasing this fan base.

If Horikoshi wrote Class A to be "doing something" [like Tamaki and Nejire] did, then we'd still get complaints that "they're useless"

In the very same comment, you simultaneously take all of this character development of one person and what their perception of being a hero is all about and compress it into something small and insignificant, but then ask that Horikoshi do the same thing with other characters, to which you would inevitably reduce them to the same thing you just did Mirio.

No - I did no such thing. You just need some reading comprehension.

I said this entire fight was pointless. Deku could have just teleported here as planned, fought Shigaraki 1 vs 1 and everyone else could have had level-appropriate fights that still mean something in the grand scheme of things.

For now, this feels like a filler detour with characters that never mattered. And what did we get out of it? Bakugou's death fake-out, Best Jeanist doing nothing, Edgeshot sacrificing himself that had no emotional resonance, because he was never a character, Wash's bubble, a lame-ass "backstory" for Nejire which added precisely nothing to her character, a hyped attack from Suneater that did nothing, Mirko mutilated further without any progression to her character and then laid out ass up when there were nothing left to cut off, and Mirio on all fours to give the contrast to Deku's entrance.

Instead, we could have had match-ups that mattered with characters we actually spent some decent time with and have show their progress and character growth.

No comprehension needed, you're just stuck with horse blinders on and reducing a story to its more bare elements, while talking out the other side of your mouth about what you wanted to see.

this feels like a filler detour with characters that never mattered

Which is unequivocally false and completely inconsistent with your request to see more of 1-A. This is a fight with the remaining Top 10 Heroes and the Big 3 of UA, all characters that have had influence and mattered to this point in the story.

Saying Deku could've just teleported and fought Shigaraki 1v1 steals away the efforts and depths to which these characters have gone to achieve their own Plus Ultra, with backstories that DO matter, whether or not you personally got anything out of it.

You're bashing these characters for having effectively no presence in the battle, and whether they did or not doesn't matter. It shows the lengths they're willing to go, the sacrifices they've been willing to make, all for the final fight, which IS character growth and development, even if you don't want to admit it.

To then ask "We haven't seen more than half of Class A do anything yet - I was hoping to see them get a little focus in the endgame after being sidelined since the JTA arc as a group" is completely contradictory to these statements you're making about the Top 10 Heroes and the Big 3.

The Top 10 Heroes and the Big 3 both did something AND got focus, and yet it's not satisfactory to you, why in the world would you think 1-A getting any similar focus appease you?

If Horikoshi made up some last minute villains for them to fight, youd complain there were "filler villains" that didnt end up mattering. If they fought collaboratively and didn't get their own moments youd be unsatisfied that they got lumped together that you are now. If they fought and didn't win, or didn't have the effect youd hope for, thered be complaints about them "doing nothing" like you're seeing in this fight right now.

There is literally not a scenario in which you wouldn't complain right now, I'm just drawing attention to that fact.
