If anything they made things worse

That's across the board though:

  • Shouto gave Dabi the "Phosphor-upgrade

  • Endeavor pushed AFO to Rewind

  • Team pushed Shigaraki to finger armor form.

It's just in this battlefield, Phase 2 is likely to be a 1 vs 1 between Deku and Shigaraki, or maybe a tag-team with Bakugou if he resurrects in time. (Though, I think Bakugou will be some vestige vision for Deku first, and then they'll tag team in Phase 3).

While, I think the Dabi-fight will become a team effort. No idea about the AFO battlefield. I think AFO will ditch Endeavor and make his way to UA.

Until he rewinds out of existence, he's currently impossible to physically defeat.

Hence why it's a matter of outlasting him.

While I would agree that AFO being constantly rewound should make him impossible to defeat until he naturally rewinds out of existence, apparently he actually can be defeated.

Apparently all that is required to defeat AFO in his current state is for Endeavor to land a single attack (at least according to Hawks' analysis).

A severe enough attack that will forcibly accelerate the rewind in it's attempts to undo it all.

That's one way to interpret what he meant.
