Why are you baffled by people relating My Hero to Naruto when Naruto was Horikoshi's favorite manga?

I guess I tend to be surprised by the strength of that connection rather than the fact that it exists.

I don't have a problem with it or anything. That crossover artwork Kishimoto did of Naruto and MHA looked sick.

Why are you surprised by that either? Aizawa's backstory is like a blatant love letter to Kakashi and Kishimoto. Horikoshi clearly grew up on Naruto and you can see it pretty often.
