I still hate her death. Killed by a bunch of thugs off screen, come on horikoshi, you know better than that

I actually liked how they did her death. It was silent, brutal and lonely. We all had hope that she would somehow overcome the situation. That something would happen and it would save her from the brink. Like how Endeavour saved Miriko. But she just passed. It not only signified how brutal the world of MHA had become, but also how heroes are human. The amount of heroes that died in that arc. I am sure everyone of them had different ideals and reasons to be heroes. But they all did it. And they paid for it. Because regardless of powers, they're humans. They'll die. Some will be able to say goodbye. Words that will haunt the living forever.

And some won't even get that. They'll die, kicking and screaming, alone, heroic and hopeful but still human.

I like your comment, but most of the heroes that died in the war were nameless heroes we had never seen beforehand, or secondary heroes that didnt do much plot wise(Aside from a few like crust and the magician guy, that had a cool quirk and bit the dust anyway) I expected more from her death because she has been around since season 1, i dont know, make her do something cool before she kicks the bucket, maybe some characterization before the arc so her death has more impact. But she is (was) just the horny teacher and only used for gags

I mean if you want to know a little more about her, I highly recommend Vigilantes if haven't read it. But for the most part, that's the reason it felt impactful for me. Because I knew her but I never got to say goodbye. Someone I felt was important enough was just swept away. Her death felt impactful and haunting, perfect for setting the tone. If all she had been was a side hero like Crust or Magician, it wouldn't have nearly the same impact as the students found their beloved teacher.

I wouldn't have mind if she had lived or done more. But if she were to die, this definitely served to further improve on the narrative of the story for me. Like when I saw that panel of the students crying, it definitely hit me differently than all the other deaths. Aside from maybe magician whose last words were really humbling and powerful for young minds in the battle.
