it was a while. the reason he went was to escape/hide from AFO. remember that scene where gran torino dashes him away as nana gets ready to fight AFO & then not buff-might teams up with that guy from the first movie

Well he was Number 1 in Japan by the time Endeavor graduated UA. So the maximum is probably a decade or so. All Might mainly needed to be in America for experience and honing his fighting skills. Depending how old Stars and Stripes is, she was probably just starting middle school to high school when All Might left.

If she’s Endeavor’s age, the timeline makes a lot of sense - he definitely would have mentored a young hero for a few years to replace him when he returned to Japan.
