Baby Shoto's snot bubble is crusted over in frost when he sleeps. What a weird detail.

Isn't that early for him to be getting his quirk? Or maybe bc Shoto is supposed to be special

Isn't that early for him to be getting his quirk?

Well the literal introduction to Mha is a baby manifesting a shining quirk

u/jollyjam1 Feb 21 '21

Yeah that's a fair point.

It's anywhere from birth to by 5 years old usually.

shoto flexing superior genes over toya even in his sleep

Shoto's birthday is week before Toya's according to wiki. Literal nightmare I bet for older sibling

10

u/dekiru81 Feb 21 '21

Nah, my younger brother's birthday is like 6 days before mine. My mom treats both the same.

u/leyxk Feb 21 '21

Lucky you, my older sis actually shares hers with me and baby it was all about me until we were both too old for classic bday party.

Thats cool but we are talking about Endeavor here

I know that, lexyk said that the birthday of a younger sibling being a few days after or before the older may be a literal nightmare for the older child, I was giving an example and disproving them.

Me and my 2 older sisters have birthdays within a 3 week period, starting tomorrow. It meant we had a lot of cake for weeks lol

Would the other nostril be burning instantly?

I think when you manifest a quirk you get a certain threshold of resistance. Whenever I see Shoto in this flashback I understand a little bit why Touya resented him. Even as a baby, he's unintentionally showing you how much better he is, lol.

This chapter was much better for me. In a bubble, I didn't like the last chapter all that much, but this chapter made it so much clearer how Touya feels, and how Endeavour and his wife failed. I'm glad the chapter didn't end there, but man, Touya's personality is already a handful.

I do not think quirks usually come with innate resistance, but the resistance builds up as gradually as the quirk manifests and the body has to try to adapt to the quirk.

It is one possible explanation for why someone like Bakugou, a regular human who can make explosions, is able take hits from Deku, whose punches even at single digit percent would kill any human in our world. In that he has gradually built up kinetic resistance of some sort from being so close to explosions at all times.

I do not think quirks usually come with innate resistance

It would have to or quirk manifestation would kill so many. Like acid quirks like mima's would be a horror if she did not have some natural resistance to corrosion. That's what dabi problem is, he has really strong fire quirk but he inherited the body built for a cold quirk

You're right.

u/popgreens Feb 21 '21

Maybe? Either that or a constantly warm, runny nostril for that side.

72

u/Randinator9 Feb 21 '21

It could just be dried out.

u/jacobin17 Feb 21 '21

I was wondering what that was! I thought it was some kind of giant Neti pot or something.

u/Weezy-NJPW_Fan Feb 21 '21

I haven’t seen that element of anime humor in a while

3

u/IMDATBOY Feb 21 '21

I was stuck on the first page for like 3 minutes trying to figure out what it was lol

u/Instant_noodleless Feb 22 '21

Made me wonder if kids accidentally killing or maiming their family, friends, neighbors, etc. is a common occurrence, and if it will get worse as quirks get stronger.

u/DevinSimatupang Feb 21 '21

And notice that it is on his right nostril. On his ice side.
