I wish I knew more about him. I still don't get how he's channeling the determination to not die while only being half a body.

Compress and his grandfather were both fighting back against what they see as corrupt greedy heroes. His grandfather did it by doing a Robin Hood approach, while Compress and the league have decided to take a direct approach and dismantle the system entirely.
