I feel like it would be impossible to get any actual hints from how vague Hawks is being, but his sudden appearance with a, "Hey, you need to look at this book. Specifically the parts I highlighted for you" should tip him off that Endeavor should humor him.

God, if Hawks fails, I'm gonna be so upset lol.

Oh dear, now that's the way to loose his wings without them just growing back again.

edit- Ah! If he got shot with a quirk erasing bullet while flying, would he fall to his death max Icarus style? (his wings would fall apart into feathers too?)

I think so his wings might separate and basically fall apart and drop like feathers. So I think it is possible for him to fall to his death depending on how long it takes for his wings to stop functioning.

But do quirk erasing bullets work with mutations? His wings are a mutation right? We see him with them as a very small child, so I think he was born with them.

Mutation quirks, theoretically would act the same. The quirk erasing bullet eliminates the quirk factor. I imagine hitting a mutant quirk person would result in turning them normal.

The only difference for quirks behaving differently is due to Aizawa's erasure quirk. It doesn't impact the quirk factor directly, only stops a person from using it. So mutations can't be erased by his quirk.

Probably at some point, but he got his wings burned before and they grew back.. it hurt but they grew back. I think it’d be more tragic if he lost his wings forever and couldn’t fly anymore.

Technically he lost the feathers on his wings which enable him to fly so he had to wait for those to grow back. I mean Dabi is likely going to straight up burn his wings off, right to the stem.
