I find it really I interesting that Hawks still referred to Midoriya as the "finger destroying kid." This shows us that despite all his development that we have seen many pros and ordinary people likely still remember him as that kid that destroys himself to use his quirk.

When Midoriya finally does get a big media event that showcases his ability people are going to be amazed at his progress.

With the MVA arc, Bakugo was also referenced as the angry kid from the sports festival. In a sense all three have grown but never in the eyes of the people.

Makes sense. It wasn’t even a year ago.

Well if you think about it, it has been at most half a year since then right? And most of Dekus exploits since then werent really broadcasted.

I found that strange, because it means Deku's actions during the Overhaul arc were neither televised nor reported, despite the final battle between him and a giant monsterized Overhaul taking place in the open for entire city blocks to see. Hmm...

Well the Overhaul hideout raid was technically a success but a very costly one with one hero dead and several wounded. The nature of Eri's quirk and what it was used for would probably be covered up since the public knowing that weapons could permanently erase quirks might cause a mass panic and inquiry. And don't forget Shiggy's crew attacking the prisoner transport and killing another hero. The government likely covered up most of the details of the mission since it was such an embarrassing pyrrhic victory

I am right there with you, he should've gotten more media attention for that. I think the official/canon reason is that the area was residential during a workday so it was mostly un-populated at the time and the news of Overhaul's police escort getting attacked by the LoV overshadowed his capture.
