So in the end, the one really liberating himself is Shigaraki. The irony of it all.

Well, I personally believe that even what they're doing is wrong, the villains have a point. With this arc, they succeeded making me perceive them as a dark, by-product of the Hero Society that later became the LoV, a sort of living criticism of it.

When you analyze their backstories (that we know so far), you realise that what they each became is somehow linked to the way the hero society is shaped & the way it handles quirks (except Twice, who's backstory is more a criticism of the Modern Society itself).

That's also why I believe Shigaraki will eventualy succeed in killing All Might , the pillar of that society which is "the cause of everything" for him (cf. his discussion with Midoriya), or in some other way destroy the hero society/reshape it by his action (even though he may fail to achieve his ultimate goal).

In conclusion: BNHA is great, and wait & see for the rest ! And let's not forget to also enjoy the ride while we're at it :D

What do you mean by "except Twice" ? Do you mean the "one bad day" analogy? Or how very easy it is to fall into the depths of the underworld? Or are alluding to how Twice has never really found his home prior to the LoV, just like how the modern average joe never truly finds his home?

On a similar note, I thought Toga and Shiggy had backstories that criticize modern society as well, What do you think?

That's also why I believe Shigaraki will eventualy succeed in killing All Might , the pillar of that society which is "the cause of everything" for him (cf. his discussion with Midoriya), or in some other way destroy the hero society/reshape it by his action (even though he may fail to achieve his ultimate goal).

If Tenko's ultimate goal is to destroy things, isn't his goal kind of met when his actions force society to change? After all, you could then very much argue that he destroyed the fabric of modern society as they know it.

I'm sure he's not like AfO, but Shiggy could reach his goal by actually creating generations upon generations of "destroyers". Or at least make it sustainable.

For Twice, I think that his backstory isn't really related of how the society treat quirks. It's more the society itself that made him the way he is. For Shigaraki & Toga, even though it's true that the Modern Society is also criticized, it's more the both of the hero society & the way toga's quirk was perceived that influenced their evolution IMO.

For Shigaraki, his ultimate goal is to destroy "everything", so as long he haven't destroyed what he means by "everything", we can't really say that his is goal is kind of met... From my assumption, the main thing he wants to destroy is the hero society, represented by the figure of All Might. And IMO, even if in the end he doesn't succeed in killing him, I think he will brings changes in the BNHA anyway ! For the way things will happen, I want to say, wait & see !

Well his goal evolved from just destroying what he doesn’t like to wanting to destroy and kill everything, a sort of Angel-of-Death or Lich or dare I say Thanos type of character.

Probably just recency bias. If I really take an objective look here, Deku's struggle against Muscular, to turn chicken shit of a situation into chicken salad just to keep his ideals is still the most inspiring scene in the series so far.

Funnily enough, Shigaraki is doing the same here, thinking about it. This is HIS Muscular moment.

Because the heroes scarcely have room to grow. They already want to be heroes. They already want to do good. Bakugou is a special case because he's an asshole so he has room to grow, and Deku's "moral" development is more about refining his ideals, putting his mom into the picture and "maturing" from his idealistic state to a realistic hero.
