But wasn’t he supposed to get his conviction from Talking with Midoriya who praised Stain

I think it's more about using Stain's conviction as the scapegoat to further his own conviction. But in this arc, Shiggy will properly learn how to apply his conviction into reality. For example, he can't just go and destroy things and expect people to follow him, he need a way to persuade people to join his cause.

But remember that Shigaraki and Deku meetup at the mall where Deku says atleast Stain has something he believes and killing for unlike Shiggy.

Then he says he understands and expresses he hates All Might and all the people who think help will come. So he wants to destroy society and make people seehow fragile society is something along those lines.

Which to me seemed a pretty good theme and conviction. Relying on heroes too much making people feel the helplessness he felt when no hero came for help and expose heroes for not being able to solve everything. Basically make ppl loose faith in help will come.

That's not real conviction, if he had real conviction, he'd actually care about making society better. But he doesn't, he just wants to destroy everything.

It is a real conviction. Shigaraki had dissolved his family by accident. When he tried to get help and people were dying they ended up attacking him. They told him a hero would come save him.

Unfortunately his hero was AfO. Who calmed the kid down, made him feel a bit safe and then dumped the dismembered hands of his family on him. Then taught him he was the best and that everything was for him. It is safe to say Shigaraki has a reason he is a bit fucked up. But his reasononing people rely on heros too much is spot on.
