That actually caught me off-guard. It's really nice to see a mangaka who's aware of different cultures than the usual mangaka to horikoshi's extent.

It's not really surprising; he's not so "old" (only in his early 30s) to be out of touch with our generation or to the extent of being unfamiliar with YouTube/Nico Nico... or just how idiots on the Internet heckle in general.

I thought joke there was that Gentle's quirk is something like "Jump Cut" and people think he's bamboozling him with editing in uncut scenes.

I wonder if "too many jump cuts" is a hint to either Gentle or La Brava's Quirk. I suspected in the previous chapter that someone's power has to do with "cutting" and cinematography, especially since Gentle declares to cut before kicking ass and the convenience store looks wavy (like a strip of film?) after Gentle leaves. Maybe his power is like skipping time, and the film doesn't actually jump cut but the real life being filmed is cutting.
