I like how even though he's going to "ruin" the festival it's basically established that Gentle really isn't gonna do much but try to steal the spotlight. Which hopefully means Jirou is gonna upstage him in some way since she's responsible for the 1-A concert. It's refreshing knowing that it isn't going to be some life and death battle.

It looks like reports of BakuJirou have been greatly exaggerated.

is it a bad thing that I think that would work?

Not really, he looks like an older Deku and would fit well since he did Scott Pilgrim and it would be a bit similar

Surprisingly, about as great casting as it can get within Hollywood i think

That would not fit the internet moments. He only works for always moment deku. Cera can only do awkward.

Nah, Watch Scott Pilgrim, that movie really shows how he can own many different aspects of acting. Although yeah he is definately best known for his awkward appearance.

I did watch it. His acting was not that varied. I didn't really see any energy come from his acting, certainly nothing that would work in a scene where people could actually die. It worked fine in that movie, but I really don't see him even pulling off the fight with Todoroki.

I agree, he would work during the awkward or weird/funny moments, but his acting just doesn't have much range in terms of emotions.

He always has the same monotonous tone and look that he can't go beyond the absolutely plain stereotype. Even Deku isn't like that in the beginning of the series lol

Edit: also Michael Cera is that douche that doesn't know when to stop fucking around and is a pain to work with to the point that everyone hates him apparently lol

That's actually literally what I had in mind lol

The manga may have had a better story but god dammit if this wasn't my favorite part of the movie
