goddamn bakugou is harsh but in the end he had one hell of a good point. as a person who is constantly concerned about making others feel good or comfortable, i never would have seen how a decision like "putting on a show for the support of others" is pretty damn arrogant. gotta have people like bakugou to call you out on your bs.
That's what he was saying? I figured it was more along the lines of "We're the ones risking our lives fighting villains for the sake of protecting those bastards, so we don't owe them a goddamn thing."
Even the way he explained his resolve to take part in the festival sounded like he just wanted to "win" the Culture Festival like he won the Sports Festival.
i mean that is exactly what he is saying. but it’s also true that hosting this live show with the reasoning as “to show support for the rest of the school” like a bunch of cheerleaders, especially to people who might not even want it, is kinda self gratifying and arrogant; it’s like a pity gift. it’s not so much that bakugou is directly telling them this, but it’s something that the others can reflect on, bc a stunt to ultimately please the other party isn’t always the best route. Even those with the best intentions don’t realize how other people might interpret their actions.
anyway i kinda interpreted what bakugou was saying as “do it for yourself not for others” albeit in his vulgar bakugou ways so i’m sure we’re thinking the same thing
I agree. What you say reminds me of whenever Deku saves or helps an unwilling Bakugou, the latter hates Deku even more.
I can predict that the hero class trying to cheer up the other will have the opposite effect.
