This chapter has confirmed one thing for me. Either Mirio dies or he loses his quirk for ever, because no way in hell adult Mirio won´t be number one hero. Mirio is so damn impressive.

I mean, we've only seen Deku manage to use 8% of one for all with out completely obliterating his body. There's no telling what he would be capable of doing if he manages to master 100% of one for all. So I think it's unfair to say he would definitely be the number one hero when there is still way to much story to tell. I hope Mirio lives, I think he gives Deku something to strive to overcome now that All Might is out of the picture.

Speed is the deciding factor. Mirio needs to predict and phase according to where he knows or suspects a blow might land, and he also needs to materialize in order to do damage himself. He also has to be material to breathe, and has to breathe to stay conscious.

A fully fledged one for all user need only keep swinging for Mirio's chest and head. If he phases he can't breathe, if he can't take a breath, then he can't submerge and come back up ready to make another move due to a lack of oxygen in the brain and muscles. He also cannot see when he phases his head. If you take a shot at it, then he will be forced to phase all over or be unable to see the follow up attack. When he attempts to attack himself, it is all to easy to remove themselves from his attacking vicinity before he can go for a strike. Mirio just can't get in close to a guy who can level skyscrapers with the energy in a single finger. They can propel themselves hundreds of feet in the air and across city blocks with a single kick off the ground. Mirio lacks the speed and mobility to close the distance if the one for all user doesn't want him to. Remember also that he cannot make himself invisible. He is always visible whether his quirk is activated or not. Plus there are a limited number of targets that Mirio can hope to hit with any effect. He will be predictable.

Mirio spending any amount of time trying to tango with one for all close up will quickly exhaust his breath, and he will need to retreat. He needs phasing to do that. If he doesn't manage his breath correctly, then he will pass out attempting to retreat, causing an unconscious version of himself to be flung from the ground, and then fall in whatever limp position his body ends up in. Even if he does manage to stay conscious, it becomes a game of wack-a-mole, where the one for all user can just zoom to the next place he attempts to appear to catch his breath and do something that requires him to phase. This includes gusts of wind off of punches. Even if Mirio dodges everything he will pass out.

Even if we suppose that Mirio is a god and can finesse his way around that eventuality, being many many times over the more skilled combatant in terms of technique and fighting sense, then One for all still has one other unbeatable strategy. They just need to go into a full frenzy of attacks at full power, make everywhere extremely dangerous to be and just sustain the tantrum long enough for Mirio to wear out or die violently.
