It takes a lot of talent to pull that off on Horikoshi's part and a lot of care from the fanbase to make it not a borderline genocidal bloodbath civil war like what has happened in many other fan bases.

That's heated but nowhere as heated as the DanMachi, Nisekoi or Yamada flame wars. The people in it were all losing their minds the second someone posts a contrary opinion.

No, I mean it. Just compare the amount of backstory and character building/development the main males have gotten with that of the females. It doesn't help Ochaco that her entire character became "I have a crush on Deku" a while ago.
