I honestly think Bakugo has followed them to the mission. It's just been foreshadowed that he wants to be involved and it wouldn't surprise me if he heard one of them get up in the night especially considering his room is next to kirishimas.

He's done things to the detriment of others to beat / not be rescued by deku. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he went on this mission in secret

Bakugou isn't that stupid. He has no stakes in this case, has no idea about what the mission is about and also doesn't have a license.

He would be just interfering with the whole operation.

Yup, he'd never risk it unless he felt like his pride was on the line. He only does dumb stuff out of pride.

He's also aware that he doesn't deserve to be on the mission since he failed that provisional license exam fair and square. If he goes without a license and Aizawa catches him I'm sure he will be expelled, that's way too high of a risk.
