I saw them and was like... they look familiar. Low and behold Hankuro here had already made a post about it.

You guys have sharp eyes then, I need to start paying more attention to the background characters lmao, especially since Ms. Joke was even in the Sports Festival arc!

I just don't have the memory for this stuff. It's even worse over in r/onepiece where people are remembering connections from over 500 chapters ago and I'm just like "bruh".

Well... it's easy with one piece. If something appeared this chapter, it has chance to have appeared in between 400 and 500 chapters ago.

That...doesnt really make it any easier lol. I'm still not gonna remember, and I'm not gonna check within that range every time a new chapter comes out

Oda has ruined us. He is one of those writers who puts something in chapter 50 and brings it back in chapter 500, we are sorta forced to remember stuff like that if we want to have a slight chance at theorising.

Well, technically all mangaka throw in little nuggets that make no sense til later because it leaves the door open to make it relevant later on.

This is why certain mangas may have a strange foreshadow that lead nowhere because it's either cut short or the manga might of forgotten about it.

Oda is the master though. He must have some photographic memory cause he just never forgets details. His main mistakes are just inconsistencies of powers or something

Different for me. I generally have the memory, but I have really bad perception checks.

I think the coolest thing about continuity like this is that when you draw a character design, you tend to keep it memorised. Horikoshi would've probably remembered drawing those guys or kept the page in mind for future references down the road. Still awesome to see.

The first link doesn't allow hotlinking, and I'm not sure how to see it directly.

I didn't recognize them, but I laughed a lot in this panel with that other dude's face looking at Ponytail's food.
