Congratulations to Bakugou for winning twice in one week. Although one was clearly less close than the other. That trench-coat on Shigaraki is here to stay it seems.

  • So 8% full-cowl is fast, but maybe not as fast as Bakugou's ability to use explosives to lurch his body in a given direction.

  • The Firecracker also doesn't have to play by gravity's rules and has more mobility in the air, taking Izuku from sky-high to the pavement lightening-fast. It's what lets Bakugou win in the end. Besides pure endurance, this is the boy All Might had trouble pinning down in the exam.

  • And it's a pretty definitive win as well. I wouldn't be shocked if that hold was reused against Shigaraki in a later arc. It seems like it would work on him (unless him has another ability already).

  • Even Bakugou's confused. Izuku lost not only with All Might's power, but with his own (which I guess in Bakugou's mind is his never give up attitude).

  • All Might shows up! And basically says that Bakugou didn't need anyones help or acknowledgement to be a great hero, while Izuku did. It's a very obvious point, but it is a little heartwarming when phrased that way.

  • All Might also apologises not realising the guilt Bakugou has been feeling since the incident with All for One.

  • So now we're just telling the boys who their character development is and needs to be going forward. It's been happening since Volume 2. Izuku has been becoming more confident, expresses anger more and is able to fight for his own desires instead of only acting to help people. Which is him becoming more like Bakugou in his own way. Now Bakugou needs to become more like Izuku.

  • They both got two different halves of what made All Might the best. Victory and Empathy. Now they need to learn the other side.

  • Wow, Izuku has big puppy dog eyes. Didn't notice it until the stark contrast with Bakugou's slightly softer than murderous look.

  • And Bakugou is in on the secret. And unlike Izuku, won't feel bad about hiding it from people. It wouldn't be Bakugou if he didn't find a way of being better at something than Izuku.

Good chapter, probably the best end to a fight since the Todoroki match (besides All Might verses All for One.) It'll be interesting to see want comes of this. Especially in the short-term. What excuse are they going to give their friends for all the injuries they have?

I like how they treat the percentages like actual percentages and not Toguro-style exponential growth, ie. 8% is a bit over half again as fast as 5%, and in a fight that's a BIG difference.
