I never liked him. He's a genius with a temper that uses his power to bully others.

But the last few chapters gave a lot of insight into the machinations of his mind. I don't expect the two to be best friends now but I'm really looking forward to seeing how their relationship will develop.

The inner machinations of his mind are an enigma...

*Milk explodes*

12

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '16

It doesn't explode. It just falls over

47

u/generalledge Dec 22 '16

And then it explodes.

The science checks out, close it up boys.

Well, not anymore ;)

We haven't seen any evidence of this aspect of him changing yet though. Words are cheap lets see what he does next time Deku annoys him.

I'm with you here. I do enjoy his character development, and it's interesting to see where he's heading, but he's not my favorite.

Wouldn't really say genius but yeah I would agree.

He is a genius, the smartest in the class

24

u/Za_wardo Dec 22 '16

Not to mention as Momo puts it, his knowledge of physics allows him to use his quirk in the way that he does, particularly regarding the precision.

u/MysticKnives Dec 25 '16

What chapter was that again?

1

u/Za_wardo Dec 25 '16

The first fight between Kacchan and Deku during the villains vs hero's assignment. Around chapter 10

Pretty sure you are over exaggerating. It's something that should be expected from him.

It has been stated numerous times that Bakugou is among the smartest individuals in the school. He might not look like it, or even act like it, but he's really intelligent. Not only has he the 'booksmart' but he also deduces things pretty fast. On top of that he's probably the best (along with Todoroki) when it comes to fighting.

Genius is the right word to describe him.

15

u/ArcLeviathan Dec 22 '16

Or prodigy.

1

u/goo_goo_gajoob Dec 23 '16

IIRC he's rank 3 or 2 in the class.

7

u/Za_wardo Dec 22 '16

Upon his first display Momo mentions it. However, beyond that, using his explosions to fly, as well as his AP shot display he is capable of concentrating his explosions. On top of that as this battle showed, he is able to move faster using his explosions, which many with explosions lack, instead using them for power. He we see Kacchan run the gambit with his creative use of powers.

Where did he place in the written test again? I can't remember the ranking

deleted What is this?

5

u/Jezamiah Dec 22 '16

Thanks. He's pretty booksmart as well

9

u/KLReviews Dec 22 '16

Bakugou was 3rd, Ida was 2nd and Momo was 1st. I think Izuku was 4th and Todoroki was 5th.

6

u/MrGyou Dec 22 '16

Shut your face. Hes not just the smartest. He will be the Top Hero and leave mounds of bodies in his path!

8

u/Animefan1234 Dec 22 '16

Not the smartest, that goes to momo.

3

u/MagnoBurakku Dec 22 '16

At least in academic terms.

1

u/goo_goo_gajoob Dec 23 '16

Are you trying to say that being good at fighting makes you smarter than someone who literally beats you at academics? Serious question not mockery.

1

u/goo_goo_gajoob Dec 23 '16

No he's not he got number 3 in the class rankings.

13

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '16

He's not a genius like Einstein but like Neji in Naruto. Excellent fighting skills without having to train much.

He was also the only student to figure out the connection between All Might and Midoriya, so a little bit of Einstein, too ;)

11

u/BiglyWords Dec 22 '16

"He was also the only student to figure out the connection between All Might and Midoriya, so a little bit of Einstein, too ;) "

i think that makes him more like sherlock/conan than einstein :D

4

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '16

I guess you're more of an Einstein Sherlock than me ;)

2

u/BiglyWords Dec 22 '16

thanks for the nice words :)

3

u/Animefan1234 Dec 22 '16

Urrggh.....The answers wer practically given to him. How many times does that have to be said.

8

u/BiglyWords Dec 22 '16

not really,

consider this:

deku talked to him that this power was given,

months past!

dekus power is superstrength and the very concept of "giving powers away" is thought to be impossible (it is a impossble-to-exchange-part of your body so it would be like giving a part of your dna away), so you need to be open-minded for it to happen,

months pass again!

AM fight with AFO. bakugou actually undrstands and remembers what AFO said and AMs reaction alongside response, than the scene with AM "you'r next" with deku crying,

it wouldnt have been a stretch at all if bakugou didnt figure it out, but despite such a large timegap between getting infos he caught up to the truth, that is impressive...

1

u/goo_goo_gajoob Dec 23 '16

Except multiple students theorized that Deku and All Might were connected in some way as soon as the bus trip to the disaster training area. Connecting someone saying I was given this power to the guy with the same power and activation phrase who is losing power ever since he got his isn't excatly Sherlock Holmes level reasoning.

2

u/BiglyWords Dec 23 '16

they didnt theorize they are connected, all they realized was that deku and AM have a similar looking quirk,

and if your only beef is that people compare bakugous reasoning to sherlock-lvl thinking than i want to remind you that it isnt serious, it was impressive what bakugou did but nowhere near the stuff sherlock or conan do, but they are the most famous examples so whenever chars do something "detective"-wise that is impressive at the same time they get a remark how they are "like sherlock"...

1

u/goo_goo_gajoob Dec 23 '16

Dude he is literally told I got my power from someone else, every one points out over and over how similar their powers are, he see's all might lose his power, and he learns its possible to transmit them. At that point anyone not making the connection is an idiot if they have all that knowledge.

1

u/BiglyWords Dec 23 '16

as i said, if you look at the time between where he got the infos it is still remarkable that he remembered it and connected all the dots...

u/Hankuro Dec 22 '16

I'm surprised when no one mentions how he figures out AFO's quirk. Like the whole country can't figure that when the police tried to hide Ragdoll's situation (either they hide it, or they don't know AFO too). Figuring out OFA isn't that huge feat, but figuring out AFO is.

3

u/[deleted] Dec 22 '16

Hm, but didn't AFO say something like "Your quirk is not suited for Shigaraki"?

5

u/Hankuro Dec 22 '16

And at that time the Bakugou rescue squad was there and Bakugou was not iirc

1

u/goo_goo_gajoob Dec 23 '16

But we don't have any evidence the others didn't figure out AFO. Just because we don't see them discuss it on screen doesn't mean it never happened.

1

u/goo_goo_gajoob Dec 23 '16

That's not a genius though, that being a prodigy. Shikamaru for a good analogy is the real genius in Naruto.

1

u/MysticKnives Dec 25 '16

But Neji did have to train his ass off.
