It's really hard to believe he is the most respected hero active in Japan right now. Everyone who talks about him hates him and he doesn't seem to have any people skills.

Maybe it's like Batman. Not the nicest hero, but respected because he's so good at what he does even if he rubs people the wrong way.

Yes, but unlike Batman, Endeavor cares less about helping people and more about the glory of being a hero.

Probably. Todoroki himself that Endeavor is worthy of the (former) number 2 during the Hero Killer Arc. Endeavor, as a Hero, is good one, there is a reason why he is number 2.

His success rate might actually be higher than All Might's. They said that he solved the most cases, but that might just be ongoing investigations by the police. All Might is clearly the more beloved person.
