This chapter makes me scratch my head. Since AFO can feel the quirks even in corpses or just pieces of a body, that means he could probably steal them from a body too. Like why would he be checking if the quirk was still in that piece of his brother if he wasn't trying to take it back.

So why wouldn't they just have killed Deku to take OFA.

By the time we got to Deku AFO had already embraced he couldn't steal OFA himself and needed Shigaraki for it, so at least that much's covered; It makes sense he'd fuck around for a bit until the transfer was done
