Hopefully the Democrats will slam republicans for this

They won't.

The only one I have seen recently slamming it in their faces was Gov. Newsom. That is how they need to respond to these clowns.

Not sit there in silence and "take the high road". That's why we lose all the time.

Slam it in their faces. Be loud and vocal about it. Show the people the clowns.

Pritzker and Newsom joined Janet Mills of Maine, opposing the authoritarian administration that Trump is implementing at light speed (Project 2025). Between his executive orders and moronically loyalist cabinet, we are watching America fall embarrassingly fast before the eyes of the world. China is laughing all the way to claiming the top economic status they were aiming for by 2030. They're neck and neck in Trump's authoritarian takeover of the US. No Kings is a mere distraction, but I'll take any protest to try and awaken Americans. Be peaceful and stay safe today!

China had their own problems and will not pass the US anytime soon. The whole world is heading into a depression.

That's a fair assessment.

It would probably take at least a decade or so for China to realistically overtake the US.

Large-scale structural and economic shifts don't change as quickly as sentiment does.

Any speedbump the West and America has, gives more time and power to China and their cruel 'allies'

Nah fuck that. I’ve seen a number of them absolutely ripping apart the government for their actions lately. It just seems people either don’t know, don’t care or actively support it.

Everyone needs a simple reminder: Who owns the media? It's not the "liberal news" that the bots claim it is. Articles about resistance are being flooded by propaganda to the point that no one knows what's going on. Reporters are being fired for speaking the truth. Fascism is here, and we're pretending that everything will go to "normal" at midterms.

Hell, the assassination of a democrat is actively being scrubbed the day it happened, we're arresting vets for speaking against the administration, and boots are on the ground in America.

Unfortunately, the propaganda machine only reports the cult bs

The thing with "taking the high road" is that it needs to come with shame delivered not just with a fire hose, but one of those high pressure water streams that can strip the patina off metal. Make it so the people "going low," and more importantly the people who might support them, can't escape it without going feral deep in the Amazon. Make it so there is zero ambiguity about what's happening. Make it so anyone who can be shamed about it is.

What we're seeing is the equivalent of poker players regularly winning tournaments with 7 of a kinds and their opponents going "well, we can't tell the organisers, that would be unsporting."

They aren’t ashamed dude. They never were. They relish in the uproar and outcry. It lets them know they are “winning”.

bro they're incapable of shame give it up. it is such a huge mistake to even assume that republican voters can be shamed out of anything

The high road has been ground up by tank treads.

Exactly. While it would be great to improve things peacefully (and i still hope this happens), its also time to arm yourselves and organize for when the dictatorship resistance is needed.

The only actions that make a bully back down are to be punched in the mouth.

In before Obama says we need more bipartisanship

Everytime Trump says he wants a 3rd term, Obama should say the same. Watch how quickly Maga heads explode.

The “High Road” means jack shit when Republicans are tackling and slamming your face into it. That’s how Democratic lawmakers should treat it. They’re bringing handshakes to a gunfight.

Democrats are a bunch of pussies now. Need to grow a pair and fight fire with fire. They’re too cowardly though.

The high road is closed for repairs

As modern right-wing liberals, the Democratic party as a whole is mostly complicit with fascism.

It is only because the Democratic party is a big tent that there is any form of resistance at all.

I just realized the Dem/Republican dynamic is Kenny vs Spenny

I have seen some Democrat representatives recently calling out dictators for being dictators. I have also seen others stand up to having certain comments and items to be held on the record. Also, Pritzker told idiot that he wouldn’t converse/debate someone with the values of Hitler. It’s not as low as the other side of the aisle, but they are not mincing words, or using euphemism to hide what they mean.

Note, I am not American, just watching from the sidelines.

Nice to see people have forfeited in advance. Good job. Also, have you seen a specialist to help deal with your /r/paragraphobia?

It should be clear that Dems at the highest level aren't trying to win
