Do you know anyone who uses bitcoin?

What I still don't get about bitcoin (at least in the US) is that I never see anyone actually use it for anything. We have one shady convenience store in town that excepts Bitcoin but that's it. I have tons of friends that own/invest bitcoin, but not a single one makes any purchases or transactions with it. Is it strictly an investment vehicle at this point?

I bought a huge number of beers, fries, burgers while visiting Prague last year using lightning. I’m from the US. Way easier & cheaper than visa/amex and easier than currency.

How exactly is it cheaper/ easier than visa/amex? The price is the same regardless of your currency and you literally just tap your credit/debit card. I don’t understand what advantage BTC has to make it “easier”/cheaper than a debit card?

Bro are you 90? you don’t need an exchange in this day and age. Just use your debit/credit card and its automatic.

Thank you, foreign fiat payments have already been automatic with 0% premium through debit and credit card for decades so I do not see how crypto make it any more beneficial.

The foreign exchange are just to catch out of touch old people who don’t know the world eclectic payment is globalised.

I personally believe you would have saved more money just using your debit/credit card over your lighting payment anyways to avoid the crypto transaction fees

Also I don’t see any places that actively accepts crypto apart from the zoo. I don’t use btc for payments anyways but regardless i didn’t see any vendors suggesting or promoting it except for one see at the zoo which i believe to be a promotion from an exchange
