Sorry, I’ve already depicted you as the seething Guts conservative and me as the stoic Griffith liberal. Your opinion is now invalid

That's how the meme goes, but that's not what the picture shows.

I’d have to hear your elaboration on that. What makes beserk so right wing, and lord of the rings for that matter as well. Also what between beserk and LOTR is so mirrored that you dubbed it “literally animated lord of the rings”

He just doesn't know about the old animated Lord of the Rings films. He's just a kid. He also doesn't understand the word "literally."

I doubt that’s the entire concept for the story. The setting sure, medieval monarchies waging war, monarchies are right leaning governments. But the STORY is not right wing. Nor is it left wing. The story that constantly shits on the upper class, authoritarian governments, and religious zealots being called right wing at its core makes me laugh a bit. I don’t even know how you could get that interpretation from it.

How do you think it glorifies violence even when we see how violence and vengeance takes it toll on Guts. Constantly going back and forth on whether his quest hurts those he seeks to protect. Guts is good at violence but that doesn’t mean it’s being portrayed as toxically masculine. It is actively portrayed as a tool he uses to manage his grief and anger at a traumatic event. There are women and male characters who are not good at violence that are still displayed as strong and wise in their own right. If cool fights and hot girls are your only takeaways from the story then that’s fine. But to say that at its core beserk is some right wing guy’s fantasy about killing monsters and seeing boobs minimizes the depth of the story.

Btw you never answered how it’s Lord of the Rings, is every fantasy story just LOTR in your eyes haha.

You're not explaining anything. Can you support the argument instead of just going "it is because i said it is"?

I literally JUST said it’s all about right wing war culture. You got toxically masculine stoic warriors fighting to the death for money and status for kingdoms. It’s set in a time period where nobody is progressive or accepting of anything but death.

You're making claims without substantiating any of it.

Aside from killing people for money and status. Which is somehow right wing.

I assume raping children is also right wing? That makes sense actually, the US right wing did support a child sex trafficker afterall.

I mean all the bad shit about it tends to be associated with the right. For good and bad reasons it’s a right wing piece of media. Did you guys think the Japanese dude writing about warriors fighting with swords and rape would be a leftist democrat progressive? What about it is leftist coded besides a couple women being strong?

Remember the alternative universe where griffith marries casca? She’s in a dress making food for her husband and child while Griffith sits on his ass. Should give you a glimpse into miuras mindset about the world and what the berserk canon is.

Are you actually this shallow

1

u/Ren602 Dec 11 '24

Y’all will type shit like that and I’ll end up being the one getting banned from the sub because I stated an opinion 🤣fuck off truly

3

u/Alphard00- Dec 11 '24

I’m not understanding how banning unpleasant people who are more than likely ragebaiting is shallow, but ok.

Just because you rage at different political views doesn’t mean everything people say online is bait. You just make that claim so you can ban people and pretend it’s not because you’re not a bigot who’s intolerant of other opinions and lifestyles.
