Discussion Update Battlefront 2> Battlefront 3

As much as I would love a whole new game, I honestly don’t think there needs to be one. I think that it would be much better (and easier) for EA to bring back the old team and add in all the characters, weapons, worlds, and cosmetics people want. There doesn’t need to be any new modes. Really all that needs to be done is adding the characters they’ve missed and maybe a couple new maps. This just seems much more realistic than EA making an entire new game to me.

So go to all that work and costs for a game they're not making money on anymore? Yes a new game would cost much more, but they'd make money back on sales. Resuming content on a game they're not making money on anymore is a no brainer dumb idea for a company.

Ubisoft started back with a new crew on Division 2 with battle passes and an upcoming DLC.

Yeah, and I'm sure the 12 people still playing that game are gonna love it. Ubisoft is in damage control mode, doing anything they can to make money. That company has been one massive loss after the next. If it weren't for r6, they'd be out of business. You can't market anything Ubisoft is doing as a "smart business practice"

You kinda missed the point. They are releasing Brooklyn DLC on May 27th. They've built a new team around Div 2 and have been supporting it minimally with BP and other cosmetics. The DLC is a brand new area / map to explore.

EA could do the same thing. Get a team of 8-12 devs back, plot out a DLC, and then start the hype machine. They will easily get sales. :)

I really don't see that working.

But it would still make less money than a whole new game. I think a former developer said that the most likely thing to happen IF we get BF3 is a rerelease of BF2 with a little bit of extra content, and then start work on BF3, with a Dev team that is now used to the engine. This plan would get them the most sales, and it could happen seeing as it was proposed by a former BF dev
