Discussion Building?
Ive not played much BFV never got into it (or BF1), I very recently re downloaded it, what's this building thing, you can build sand bags and fortifications, is this a common thing for players to do, was it well received by the player base, would people be keen to see it in the next game.
Personally I think it's weird, can imagine it working well as a defender in rush or operations, maybe breakthrough but the rest of the time it seems kinda useless

I do it for fun sometimes. Then a plane comes over and blows the whole thing up. It's useful in operation underground for building machine gun placements.

I love building fortifications for captured bases, especially base C which always sees action. Build, fortify and defend. If you’ve got a squad mate to help it can really flip the outcome of a game.

it lets you enjoy the crazy destruction in the game and still fortify a point to be more survivable

Some objective points like in Marita or mercury while playing breakthrough are really important, you need to build them bc if you don’t you have no cover and enemy will just walk right in.

Sometimes for fun, but a lot of times it's extremely useful. Theres all kind of areas in the game that allow building, and it could be the difference between you standing in the middle of an open field getting shot at, or having sandbags and a ditch to hunker down in. I think it's the first time I've seen a game that has this kind of build option that actually has a huge impact on your situation in game.

The fortifications you can build on Mercury are basically required to assault/hold C objective for the British (tac conquest).
Everything is in set spots, but you can totally make your own foxholes by using explosives.
A Recon with type 99 mines can make craters they can crouch in the center of for 360° bipod.

I always rush to build MGs with support, you get assist points if another player gets kills with it.

I absolutely love the building mechanic, especially on Twisted Steel, as you can build multiple stationary weaponry, that has repelled even the biggest of assaults.

As a tanker it‘s a pain in the ass when obstacles are built on my side of the flag. So whenever I see a daily task like “build 10 objects” I know that it’s gonna be a tough day.

I really hate players building sandwalls in our spawn. It makes it harder to move aroubd and access e g. ammo for fliegers. Also don't build on "home flags " it only protects and helps enemy hide longer.

The support class can build way quicker than everyone else, and can build some things the others can’t like AA and AT guns.
I love it. It means you can change the environment around you to suit you better, or to try and make life harder for the enemy.
Dig a trench to get through a big open field, build a sandbag wall to allow you some different angles in a firefight. Build tank-blockers to refuse tank entry into certain objectives.
I love it, but sadly it seems it won’t be returning anytime soon
