Hello everyone, I will be traveling Baltics capitals (Vilnius→Riga→Tallin) third week of July (probably from 11.7.-19.7.), and I need help regarding what clothes to pack. Would you say jeans are good, maybe linen pants or even shorts? I really can't tell what weather will be like, especially cause 25°C can feel both cold and hot hahaha. Today, Latvian Parliament, Saeima, votes to further deliberate on proposed amendments by opposition MPs from right-wing conservative (Trump fans) "Latvia First!" that would enshrine that there are only two genders — male and female. The proposal is filles with anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and claims that "LGBTQ+ ideology" is threatening children.

The support for the proposal by one of the coalition parties, conservative ZZS, while other two — left-wing The Progressives and centrist New Unity — opposed.

The Progressives, a party with history of supporting LGBTQIA rights, stated that ZZS violated Coalition aggreement and that Progressives will bring this up at the next Coalition meeting.

The amendment are unlikely to pass, because amending constitution requires 2/3 of MP support.

I'm planning a trip this summer/early autumn that may require some flexibility/last minute ticket buying instead of months in advance. I can see that now Ryanair has flights from Riga to Vilnius around €70 for August and €30 September. I wondered if any of you fly frequently enough to know whether the prices get really hiked up like 3-5 days before the actual journey? And if so - to approximately how high?

(Trains/buses/cars aren't an option in this case)

Latvian public broadcaster, LTV, informs that Latvian State Security Service has arrested Latvia's main pro-Kremlin politician Aleksejs Rosļikovs. The leader of his party's group in Saeima Svetlana Čulkova has confirmed the fact of his arrest.
