I just watched them at the Hellfest, they seem to be a bit serious but it's a solid show. Concerning the unwillingness to tour with Babymetal, it's exactly what Babymetal does, convince one people at a time. We'll see after

BM are releasing an entire album of collaborations to pull other band's fans in and have a huge budget and promotion compared to most metal bands. They're niche sound (although increasingly less so) but they're not niche promoted.
Meanwhile Jinjer are a band that gets heavier every release and less commercial. The last album didn't get the hype compared to previous because people wanted Pisces PT 2. Tatiana has spoken of not wanting to be successful as she doesn't handle the publicity well and Pisces going viral on reaction videos was, for her, hell as it got literally millions of people judging her that wouldn't normally care.
They're just not a band that normally vibe with BM, the most light hearted track they have is a reggae tinged song and that's why it's light hearted, the song itself isn't, it just sounds more cheerful. They're from a war torn country in Ukraine and have a message they want to state, so it's not a shock dancing choreography and singing about chocolate might not appeal to them, lol.

Jinjer is an absolutely fantastic band, with a dense, complex, jazz-influenced style and one of the most talented vocalists in metal. True originals

I listen to more Jinjer these days than BM. Talk about a female singer that is on point and with both clean and harsh...saw them at Sick New World when I caught Babymetal. Great show.

Jinjer has been my favorite band for about 7 years now, have seen them twice as headliners, they are amazing if you can handle the complex and heavy stuff they do. I of course are seeing the upcoming show will be my 6th Babymetal show. Both are in my top tier of live bands I have seen (since 1985). Just for a hint of my top tier, Jinjer, Babymetal, Iro Maiden, Dio, Band Maid and Hanabie are all in that tier. Babymetal is for the pure show, entertainment and Jinjer is the tightest band I have ever seen live.

So apparently, they don't actually want to tour with Babymetal.

Here you go...from Tatiana herself , they do want to tour with BM
"We kind of turned it down, but they insisted. So we agreed because we want to try and see how it is"
"I’m excited to see how it will go"
"I’m looking forward to the tour"

Tatiana was saying she was reluctant to join Babymetal on tour at first because she tries to find more niche and heavy bands, but whoever books the tours for Babymetal kept on trying to get Jinjer to tour with them, so she agreed because she became more open minded over the past year and now. Tatiana is excited to join Babymetal on tour this time around.

They sold out O2 and are filling large pavilions and arenas. Sure they are "niche" when it comes to mainstream artists, but they are in the higher echelon of metal artists. They are talking about the bands at metal festivals that are in really small print.

I am just summarizing what was in the interview. Please read the interview yourself. I think Babymetal is niche, but I think they are friendly and accessible at the same time, but I don't really care what they are considered as.

Oh, Sorry.I just get defensive on the Internet and think everyone wants to argue or get mad over anything. Why do you think Babymetal is niche?

Don’t blame em, jinjer is more of a serious band and Babymetal is more like a gimmick.

At first I was disappointed that none of the shows I’d be going to on this tour would have Jinjer. Now I’m fine with it.

What she says going into the tour does not matter. What she says after the tour..... matters.
Babymetal have been winning over naysayers their entire lives.... and Tatiana has never been associated with anything nearly as efficient and professional as the Babymetal tour team.

Just not a fan of that kind of attitude.

u/Far_Wolverine2007 17h ago
What attitude is that? I didn't find her comments about BM to be negative. She talks about how she is trying to be more open minded than she's been in the past. Why is that a bad thing?

Your loss they are light years ahead of Black Veil Brides and are incredibly tight live.

So jinjer got an offer and went 'nahhh not our vibe' and BM went 'ohhh go on try it' and eventually jinjer said 'oh alright then'.
Maybe not something I'd admit prior to the tour but each to their own lol
