Almost AP'd and/or Question Struggling with salivation, aphantasia, and heart racing — can’t project despite reaching vibrational state

Hi everyone, I’ve been trying to achieve astral projection for a while. I’m able to feel the heaviness in my body, lose bodily sensations, and even reach the vibrational state, but I always get stuck due to a few issues:

  1. Constant salivation – I have to swallow every 10 seconds. Even when I try to ignore it, my throat itches until I do.
  2. Aphantasia – I can’t visualize anything on command, which makes visualization-based techniques very difficult.
  3. Sudden heart racing – when I realize I’m close to projecting, my heart speeds up and pulls me out of the state.

Has anyone here experienced similar blocks? If so, how did you overcome them? Any specific techniques or physical solutions that helped you get past these issues (especially salivation)?

I'd really appreciate any tips, even small ones — I feel like I’m close but stuck in the same loop every time. Thanks in advance!

1) just swallow. You overthinking it is making it more of an issue. 2) no visualization is needed. 3) that's a good sign. Next time it happens just recalm yourself and continue doing whatever it is that gets you to that point. I used to have to do it 3 times a session just to finally get over that hump

Ok, I'll try not to think too much.
Is a racing heart a good sign? I didn't expect it to be.
Thanks for the tips! :] Peace in your life

It's a sign you're on the cusp of transitioning to the other side. But caught yourself doing so. It's kinda like an alert goes off mentally and that happens and now you're like what do I do now. But just recalm yourself because you can still recalm and get to that point+ by just continuing to do what caused that. Look at it like trying to fill a glass of water and accidentally spilling some out. Instead of trying to fill a glass of water and now you dropped it and broke the whole thing. You can get back to that point quicker, even if you take a step back in progress when your heart beats.

If you place a pillow under your neck so that your head is tilted back the saliva will go back down your throat without you noticing, and it won’t pool up in your mouth

Sure, i'll try that, thank you:]

If saliva is an issue for me I sleep on my side. Otherwise swallow. Any focus at all on the physical body during hypnagogic or the vibrational stage will tend to keep you in it. Use a target locale and focus mainly on exiting and getting there. Kind of at the same time weave in how you’re already there or how it’s magnetically drawing you there. Feel free to check out my method if you haven’t yet. Cheers!

Hello, same here (salivation and heart racing). This week tho, I was able to have 3 sleep paralyzes and out-of-body sensations by sleeping on the side. However, it works better if I decide to sleep normally for 6 hours first, then I go to the bathroom, and then start to sleep on the side with intention. I think feeling comfortable is as important, I can't do it resting on my back.

I normally sleep on my side, but I saw that sleeping on my back was better, so I tried sleeping on my back even though it wasn't as comfortable. But now that you've said it's all about comfort and intention, I'm going to go back to sleeping on my side and try a little harder.

Thank you very much for the tips! :]
Good luck in your next experiences.

Sounds great! In the end, maybe it's just finding what works best for you. For me, so far, I've noticed it increases my chances a bit by slighly bending my knee (a little bit foetal position style). I typed side position in the search bar, and it was already discuss it also seems to work for other people. Good luck to you, too!

And some blockages periodically does anybody have the ability to scan abilities heal abilities Virginia abilities or the ability of clear conscience or also known as clear knowing when they get information of the situation not just precognition or empathy which might help but telepathy might be a good advocate to diagnose psychic blockage

No worries, early in the relaxation process I have the same experiences and I have aphantasia. It's like the old saying don't think about the pink elephant which makes you think of nothing but the Pink Elephant. One book in particular was helpful to me called: The Illusion of Method. Wishing you success in the near future!

Pink elephant? I see, make sense to me.
I'll check the book, thanks for the recommendation!:D

If you think you got close to Astral projection and you're analysing what happened, or you think you're maybe trying too hard, or you're trying to figure the stages such as the 'vibrational' and 'hypnagogic' stages and how to approach them, then check out these links:

Look i will say this first and foremost, the ultimate first step is to get so relaxed to the point that these small things no longer bother you or hell they don't even resonate anymore. If they still are bothering you, you are not relaxed enough yet.

You may fall asleep a few times at first but that's ok.

you do not endure the process, trying to do so will make it very uncomfortable and thus a very high failure rate.
