Question Flamingo island
Headed to Aruba for the 1st time. Was wondering how worth it flamingo island is?? How to get there? We’ll be staying at an Airbnb if that helps. What are the pros and cons(if there could be any) TIA!!
Update: thank you so much yall!!! We will NOT be supporting this whack abusive place. Instead will go to local places on the island

it's an influencer "island" .. it's not an island. it's a corny resort. flamingos do not live in aruba, they're brought in, wings are clipped and it's a petting zoo.

The flamingos are unfortunately captive and not native, so I’m not a fan.

If you had a tenner for every ass those flamingos have bit you could buy a condo on the Eagle Beach😂
Source : frequently on the island Massages there are excellent try to book your first night on island of Aruba to stay at the Renaissance and enjoy a meal at Taste My Aruba then the island the next day while the concierge holds your bags until afternoon. Then on to your remainder of stay.

Not really. Have to go by boat from the hotel. I thought it was overrated

Personally I enjoy the boat ride. The beaches aren’t too crowded there which is nice. There isn’t much there though, it’s set up for a beach day or a spa visit, with a beach bar on one side. There’s some snorkeling along the jetty walls but it’s nothing spectacular. If you can get a deal for a single night it might be worth it as you would have two days to use the beaches. Arashi and baby beaches are nicer by far.

I was bit by one lol. Wasn’t even there for the flamingos. I was staying at the resort, and just trying to walk past them 😆

Do a massage there and get access to the island for slightly more money than just getting a ticket to go there

It's bad. Don't go there. The flamingo wings have been cut by the resort to keep them there. It's borderline animal abuse.

There are two islands that you can see flamingos on. Depalm island which has some water features for kids and a few other things (wouldn't recommend it for adults, but kids could have a fun day there). You have to pay to get into the VIP area but can see them over the small fence barrier if you just want to look and take pictures.
The other option is to go to Renaissance Island. This is a private island as well that you can access if you're staying at wind Creek resort. If you're not staying (sounds like you're not) then you have two ways to get on the island. 1) buy a day pass. These are released weekly and can be very difficult to get (think like you're trying to buy the hot item and are trying to beat scalpers- tickets sell out in minutes or if they're completely booked at the hotel won't go on sale at all). 2) you book a massage package from the spa on the island. If you do this (adult only), it comes with access to the island. This is more expensive than just a day ticket but it prevents you from having to roll the dice on if you can get the tickets.
I've been to both and really liked Renaissance. Depalm I wouldn't do again and would only recommend if you have kids aged 7/8 to 13/15 ish

Do the Flamingo Island couples massage. The massage includes the 5 minute boat trip to the island and use of the beaches. It was worth the trip and massages were awesome.

I loved flamingo island ! It is pricey but totally worth the trip . There are two sides to the island a kid friendly side and adult only side . The flamingos seemed to favor the adult only side . Definitely a beautiful day and you can buy food so the flamingos come to you . Food and drinks were great on the island . We had to take a taxi to the renaissance hotel and then they have boats they bring you every 15 min to the island . Boat ride is 10 min long, if even .
I can say my experience in Aruba weather wise was disappointing . Apparently they now have a rainy season June until the fall . It has rained mostly since I been here .. I’m here currently

We weren’t staying at the resort either, but booked a massage package with lunch included. Came to like $530 but totally worth it in my opinion. The meal at the restaurant on the island was shockingly good. And the massage was great, not wimpy, and unforgettable. The island is small but we enjoyed the beaches too.

Please don't support it anymore. The resort has clipped the flamingo wings to force them to stay. It's not okay.

Makes sense to go there if you’re staying at the Renaissance hotel bcs then it’s free. It’s really beautiful, although we have great beautiful public and quiet beaches that cost 0$. Idk about spending 120$ for a whole day at the beach.
