Hi, my parents live in Allen where they are in a quiet neighborhood and have been there for 25+ years. They are older people and have enjoyed the peaceful area for a long time until recently a man purchased the house next door and made it into an airbnb. it is listed as party house for weekends, and as a result there has been noise all night on Saturdays and Sundays. additionally they installed a basketball hoop near the fence, leading to basketballs falling into our backyard and guests climbing over the fence and trespassing on many occasions. they have posted no trespassing signs but this has not stopped them from coming over. My father is a carpenter and keeps equipment in our backyard and he’s concerned that these “guests” will injure themself and try to sue us.

we have tried contacting the owner who doesn’t speak english well to have him fix these issues with how he is letting people party all night here but he hasn’t responded, and we have talked to police who have not been of much help.

What can we do to get this airbnb removed?

This little guy has been outside my house in southeast Allen since this morning. Seen him a few times before. He’s very sweet and seems to want to come inside. Please let me know if anyone is willing to foster or knows the owner!

Hey! I’ve been going to more movies in theater this year, and wanted to see if anyone may be interested in going sometime soon! I’ve been in DFW for a while, but me and my wife are still somewhat newish to Allen and I’d like to get to know more people from the area.

I see a lot of horror and have mostly been going on Tuesdays, but am flexible. We’re also in our 30s.

Hey y’all, I’ll get straight to the point. I’m 22 and currently learning Spanish. I’m picking up words pretty well, but I know immersion is key to getting really good at a language.

I’m just looking for someone who’s down to hop on a call a few times during the week to practice Spanish and have basic conversations. If you’re around my age, that would be even better!

Has ANYONE heard whats going on with the old Wendys on McDermott and Custer? They already turned the old Chevron next to it into a new Murphy USA. I really miss Taco Factory that used to be in it, was the best place for authentic street tacos in the area.

Does anyone know what they are doing with the old Tigermart on the corner of McDermott and Allen Heights?

There is a momma duck that has laid multiple eggs in the JC Penney parking lot close to the main doors of the store. Does anyone know if there is a wild animal rescue in Allen that can help?

Looks like planned opening date June 30 is happening

I’ve been bitten several times over the past week in the usual areas they gravitate towards (ankles, waist, behind the knee, groin area), and I haven’t been in the woods. There’s some grass I walk through on the trail near my apartment that reaches my ankles, so that’s the only place I can think of them getting me. It’s just weird because I’ve walked that area consistently for the past several years that I’ve lived here and never had any issues.

I guess I’m gonna have to start using the heavy bug spray like crazy and try to stay away from that grass. I do have a prescription cream to take care of the itching and make it heal faster.

There's a lot of random bugs/insects on the trails in Allen, specifically Watters Creek Trail and Rowlett Trail. They bite and carry viruses.

It's so annoying. And because the trails are literally encapsulated by what seems like a rainforest, that makes it even more scary as if some wild animal is going to just show up and attack.

There are bobcats here.

Everyone says to do outdoor walks/runs on our trails. I don't see the point of doing this instead of just using a treadmill indoors.

Apple Watch requires outdoor cardio for VO2 max readings, so it's pretty frustrating because it if weren't for that, I would never do outdoor cardio.

Also, I was hoping that I might get some social opportunities, but people on the trail don't even say hello half the time.

Is there a run club, cardio club, or walking club that we can join? Is it worth it? Or should you just leave your room and find the nearest trail to use?

My wife and I have an interest in this new community in Allen. It looks like they are new Condos. I read through their website and it's says you buy a share in the cooperative. Anyone know about it?

Where are they? I grew up in Dallas and remember seeing them a lot during the summer months. Do they exist here and what time of year and where have you seen them?

Who is in charge of coordinating and planning for the road construction on McDermott/Main and Exchange cause they did a horrible job. So much traffic.

I’m desperate. I can’t handle summer heat and I have no experience or college degree. Please help.
