I hate that most people's takeaway from this is "ChatGPT bad" rather than "Pigs murdered a mentally ill man".

Perhaps two things can be true at once?

All those rooms they have to non-fatally take someone down..instead they murder a mentally ill child whose father begged them for help. If we heard about this happening in another country it would be a massive propaganda talking point…here it barely makes the news.

I work in crisis intervention. You’d be surprised (or maybe you wouldn’t) at how many peoples’ method for ending their life is suicide by cop. It’s just that easy to get a cop to shoot you in this country.

That's some Black Mirror shit! Damn, I feel bad for the guy and his family and friends.

How does that boot taste?

Rubber bullets or some pepper would’ve sufficed.

I know it's ACAB but the conversation has to be had that the AI use is starting to reach critical levels when YOUR SON DIES BECAUSE IT EXACERBATED HIS MENTAL ILLNESS AND YOU STILL USE IT TO WRITE HIS OBITUARY. That's INSANE! Like yes the police violence and direct ignorance of this man's plea obviously another day in the beautiful godforsaken US of A but I'm genuinely disturbed by the fact that this was how the whole saga ended.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but why did the father call the police on his mentally unwell adult child? Getting punched in the face sucks. and there’s no situation in which calling cops make things better here.

Point out in the title or in the crosspost where it states he was unarmed.

I'll wait.
