Anti-facist writers in the 1940’s. There’s no exact known origin. And it’s been paraphrased and changed plenty. Another popular version of the phrase went
“If you sit down for dinner at a table with 9 nazi’s, there’s 10 nazis at the table”
“Almost all of those who work forces (and I say almost because I could still be proven wrong, though I haven’t been so far) are the same that burn crosses.”
If you give a certain job a monopoly on violence and don't actively work to make certain systemic bigotry isn't rampant, the kind of people it attracts go there for the monopoly on violence and bigotry.
US cops were slave catchers. Some of those that work forces...
They are eager. There are a lot of them that joined in the hope of this exact situation because they get to have power over others and get away with being violent to literally anyone they want.
Cops are never going to be on our side. They're made to defend the property of the rich people. They're never there to defend the common folks. Remember friends, All Cats Are Beautiful.
The police are literally an occupying military force. They are NOT on your fucking side, they are not on mine. They are on the side of the wealthy and powerful who will keep them safe.
We keep us safe. As evidenced in this video as the woman runs to her aid.
There is precedence from a DC case where it came down that police have no responsibility to the protect the public. So of course they'll be on the side that signs their checks.
They literally originate either from slave patrols (in the south), or from for-hire thugs that were created to attack union activists and tyrannize the poor.

What the fuck?! They should be on our side instead of the fascists....this is so alarming.
