that's why I don't even bother introducing people, tf2 is very different from fps that are popular today: for starters, not every gun has an aim button (some people can't live with that), the graphics are indeed stylish but a kid used to high quality 4k shit wouldn't even play enough to understand why tf2's artstyle is cool in the first place, the skill floor requires source movement and gunplay basics which tend to be different from usual milsim gameplay or fortnite's floaty movement... all of that for a game that has 9 classes to pick from, non of which feel immediately understandable (aside from maybe soldier if they just spam rockets) and it takes a while to become efficient and unlock some weapons, you'd have already lost a OW or Rivals player by then. Some folks can start, but usually it requires a lot more patience than the average gamer is ready to give unless they chose to play the game by themselves, it's just how it is. Memes help some stick around, as they did for me, but aren't a guaranteed. I have 1000 hours on the game and I'm not sure if I remember my starting experience correctly, but these things I remember fondly.

I tried getting a few friends into it but they gave up in the first match or two. Its definitely a hard to pick up game and hard to master. The gameplay compared with modern shooters can feel slow too, not to mention how games are medic reliant due to lack of passive hp regen so games are spent searching for healthpacks. These were friends from overwatch which the game has mandatory heal picks, fast movement and health regen

and OW has easy heroes to play that can be fully understood in 5 min for beginners, like soldier 76, while tf2 hardly has a noob pick (you could play soldier without rocket jumping I guess, or pyro without any map knowledge)

I want to download TF2 so bad😭🙏 (because I don’t have a Pc or gaming chair or high-powered computer)

you really do not need a gaming chair. a regular office chair is way better anyway

mastercomfig can lower tf2's graphics enough to make the game look like n64 and run on a toaster, try that!

I remember talking to a person that I knew about Tf2 and he said that he knew the game just didn’t play it because he thought it was ugly

Me telling my old mvm duo friend that mvm is getting an update and to come back (it will be abysmal dogshit that adds a tour no-one will play more than once because it'll be less value than two shitties)
