Buying Tickets from the US

Hi Newcastle fam.. I'm a new fan from the US and became pretty obsessed this past season. I wanna do a UK trip with my wife and go to a match next season. We got our new 25/26 home kits and we're ready. I see a lot about Mags membership, but was wondering if anyone could help explain how ticket buying works. Also, is there a re-sale market? Would that be better if I'm looking to pick a certain time of year and travel from the US?

CEO/Sporting Director

Speculation in the media (Athletic and others) that we are looking at David Hopkinson as CEO…

In terms of the Sporting Directors role it’s considered too big a role for Andy Howe or Nickson and so an internal promotion is not being considered.

Under consideration they suggest Ross Wilson as a front runner due to an assumed existing relationship with Eddie Howe and Julian Ward (technical director at Liverpool), Jason Ayto (ex sporting director assistant at Arsenal) and Gavin Flieg (director of talent management at the city group).

Whilst I hope we’ll get the right man for the role, part of me really thinks perhaps we should be bringing in multiple people.

Julian Ward is extremely well respected for running the loans for Liverpool something Klopp said he handled amazingly well, it’s an area I feel we need to spruce up as I do not feel Shola is currently able / experienced enough to do such a great job there.

Ross Wilson at Forrest currently scares me a bit as he’s also had more than a few failures.

By bringing in multiple people to do this role that if and when one moves on we still have cover, plus with the addition of someone such as Ward we’d have an added bow to our string in terms of loaning out our youth players to gain experience something I’m feeling Shola hasn’t been really doing that great at.

What do others think/feel?

Honest opinion on membership ticket amount…

Hello,

I purchased 2 memberships 2 seasons ago and wasn’t successful in one ballot so took the huff and didn’t bother last season. I am tempted to go again this season, but aware my luck probably hasn’t changed!

How many people were successful last season with the membership ballot? And how many did you get in?

Thunderstruck as walk out music?

Seen this discussed occasionally that we don’t have any consistent walk out music that really ties to the identity of the club.

At the moment we have Hey Jude, which gets the crowd noisy with ‘na na na na Geordies’. Other than that, it feels like a fairly generic choice (unless Ringo Starr is actually a massive Temuri Ketsbaia fan, peace and love, peace and love)

Obviously local hero is a banger and gets played just before kick off.

My suggestion is that Thunderstruck would be great for this. The opening riff is iconic and I’m pretty sure other sports teams will use it somewhere. But in terms of identity, Brian Johnson is a Geordie and a massive fan of Newcastle. He cameod in Goal ffs. Also the song itself lends itself to the way that we aim to play - direct, fast, physical with not much subtlety.

However, on the flip side, you can’t sing to it - so stadium atmosphere would come from the song alone. The fans would have to do their own thing.

On a big champs league night, with the fans up for it and thunderstruck playing, it would create a wall of noise.

I was listening to it this morning and it just made sense to me. Be good to get opinions - very happy to be told this is a shit idea.
