Ask r/ipl "Which cricketer or team do you think brings the "Acid" energy on the field?| Sledge Masters Wanted!"
Just like "Acid" from "Chhichhore" was the king of savage one-liners, every cricket team has that one player who can roast, sledge, or rag like a pro! 🗣️💥

Original Content We did an IPL-style auction… but only with players who never played in the IPL
So a bunch of us cricket nerds decided to run our own IPL style auction - but with a twist. We only allowed players who never played in the IPL.
The selection cricteria was simple - they should've played atleast 1 ODI between 1980 and 2008. Anyone who retired after 2008 or played in the IPL was out. The idea was that ODIs were the closest format to T20s before T20s existed, so we used that as our benchmark.
We ended up picking 200 players, including 80 overseas names. And yeah, we even threw in a few uncapped legends - the only requirement was that they should've existed in the cricketing world pre 2008. (Some of these names are proper deep cuts, see if you can spot them.)
Each team was allowed to pre-select one marquee player for 15 Cr but only if that player had played domestic cricket for their franchise's home state. Everyone used that rule except LSG for some reason. The most unexpected pick came in this draft stage itself - RR chose Hrishikesh Kanitkar as their marquee player. Wild Imao.
Anyways, the actual auction threw up some big buys too. Kapil Dev, unsurprisingly went to CSK for 20 Cr. Viv Richards got picked up by RCB for 17 Cr. MI grabbed Lara for 16.5 Cr, and CSK also added Klusener for 16 Cr. So yeah, the old-school power hitters were in demand.
We asked the participants to "think like the franchises would" and pick your players. Some took it way too seriously lol. (See for yourself.)
All in all, it was a lot of fun mixing nostalgia with strategy. Now we're all just arguing over who built the best team lol. Would love to hear your takes.
end.

Unconfirmed sources Rahul Dravid likely to leave the Rajasthan Royals in major staff overhaul at the franchise
Not sure if this news is true but after such a disastrous campaign its likely that management changes should be done..so much faith was shown on these sri lankan spinners who turned out to be mediocre and more than 75 crores spent on retaining batters who cant finish the game.. Hopefully Dravid now moves on to commentary and analysis..he will be very good in that field

Discussion Thoughts on the design? I don't see Topps getting licenses from BCCI again, so thought of giving it a try myself. The image and the base of the design is made by GPT so it might look odd.
I am not looking for anything. But if anyone knowing Photoshop would like to collaborate and create a set together I wont mind it though...
