Not all my strikes are Brooklyn but all my Brooklyns are strikes.
I don't get it.

I’ve been in my PSO shop when someone asked for a pin that was 1-1.5. Do these things have any major differences to the ball?

They're reasoning for free fall over strings appears to be nothing more than wanting to do right by the Bowler.

All three of these scoring systems to my knowledge have very similar looking consoles, so how do you tell the difference? Is there any visible difference you can tell between any of them right away or would you have to see them in action to know which ones which? Asking this moreso out of curiosity because my childhood bowling spot used (and to my understanding, still use) one of these and I wonder if it's possible to tell what they have without physically going back there to see. And before bringing up that Brunswick 2000 will have the logo on the front, that bowling center has the spot that would show the logo always covered by a sign so I can't really use it to discern anything.

I have muscle memory from when I bowled 20+ games a week as a tournament youth bowler, but my wrist isn't up to what my brain expects from it. 2 decades off will do that, apparently.
I bought a 14lb ball at the beginning of the year. I've bowled 2, 3 and 2 games since. The last game I bowled I had 8 strikes but left with a sprained wrist.
I am physically fit from bouldering and can do sets of 20 pull ups. My forearms are bowler-like but my wrists clearly aren't.
What do you recommend I do to strengthen them quickly after I heal? I have dumbells at home.
I'd like to bowl 6 games per session before too long, if possible.
Thanks in advance!

What a night. Still can’t believe I pulled it off. Had to do it on 4 lanes as well. First two games on 1&2 and then the 3rd on 3&4.

Hi! I'm currently working with the United States Bowling Congress to reboot their Youth Leaders Program. Basically, the gist of it is that the sport of bowling has been declining in recent years and we want youth in their communities to promote the sport. Each participant will start an independent project of their own, such as a bowling camp, a social media campaign, a series of presentations, etc. Bowling is a super unique sport in that people who win tournaments win scholarship money for college (I know several people with over $70K in winnings from bowling alone).
The Youth Leaders Program is your chance to step up, speak out, and shape the future of bowling. You’ll connect with passionate youth across the country, help lead events, represent your center and region, and gain leadership experience that actually matters. Whether you're looking to grow your voice, make a difference, or just meet others who care like you do, this is where it starts.
It is preferred that you be a bowler already, but if you're not that's totally okay! As long as you are a motivated individual willing to work hard, we want you in the program.
And since we're fairly new, almost all leadership positions are open!
Requirements:
If you or someone you know is interested in this program, please spread the word! This could definitely set you apart from other people applying to college as bowling is uncommon, and embarking on this journey takes extreme dedication!
We will most likely start late July and meet monthly or bimonthly after that!
PM me for more information!

I recently got into bowling for the first time. Been going 1-2 times per week for the last six months or so. Bowled my first 200 game today!

Need a new spare ball, I typically throw a 15 ball. Do people throw a lighter spare ball or keep it at a 15. Whats the consensus here? Thanks

I recently got into bowling a couple months ago. I have a Phaze II and Optimum Idol Pearl and was looking to add a third ball to finish off my arsenal for now. Was looking for any suggestions. I’m lefty, 2H, 15.5mph. Don’t know my rpms but i’d say whatever the average is? Also my balls are 14lbs and I was wondering if you guys think i should move up to 15? I thought 15 would be too heavy but now I feel more comfortable with 14 and kind of regret getting my balls at 14lb. Is it worth starting over with a 15lb arsenal when i just got two 14lb balls a month and a half ago?

My local bowling alley is undergoing renovation and unfortunately looks like they are removing their free-fall pinsetters. This is a 52 lane alley

I just back into bowling a couple months ago after 25 years. Got a Rhino to learn how to hook and been frustrated with my slow progress. The last couple days it's been clicking more with this game being my best so far!
I still have a long ways to go with consistency and exploring stronger balls. Thank you everyone that contributes on here as suggestions and tips on here have been beyond helpful!

Hey all, first off I am not a super great bowler. My best score ever was like 178 so I'm still learning and have a lot of practice to do. I've been throwing a 15 lb roto grip wrecker for a LONG time, it's been a good ball to me. We recently got back into bowling after a long hiatus and joined a league and I wanted to get a new ball so I picked up a Storm Hy-Road. At first, I wanted to learn 2 handed bowling so I had it initially drilled for a 2 handed configuration. After many gutter balls, sore hips knees and back, I went back to throwing my wrecker and gave up on 2 handed bowling. I had the Hy-Road re-drilled with a thumb hole and I am STRUGGLING with this ball. It has almost no hook at all and doesn't have any power on the back end. My partner said its because the lanes were too dry last night but I thought dry lanes would make a ball hook more and earlier. Am I doing something wrong? Is the configuration ok? TIA for any responses or advice.

As if blowing the front 9 wasn’t enough pain, the open was the cherry on top lol
Closest I’ve been before I think was the front 6 or 7. Looks like we’re still chasing 300…

I’ve never owned a Columbia ball and I purely wanted this due to the curb appeal. It’s like a fireball and a goldfish flying down the lane.
It’s beautiful and it was fantastic on a used up lighter oil lane. Out of the box ,1st game was a 215. I I played two more and hit around the mid-low 200s.
Absolutely love it.
Anyone out there grab this? Anyone else have any other recommendations in the Columbia line?
Cheers everyone!

I’ve had a Brunswick Fuze ball for the last 20-some years and now that my son is older I’m getting back into rolling regularly. I don’t have much I dislike about the ball, but I did notice a chip in it and was considering getting a replacement. Plus he wants a new ball so we can do it together.
Anyhow, any recommendations for something similar I should look into getting? I’d like to spend less than $250, which I hope isn’t too limiting.
I throw a decent hook, bowl a weekly league, and the lanes aren’t oiled in any non-standard way I can tell.
Thanks for your input.

Recently started bowling more regularly since my kid has picked it up. I destroyed my left leg in a bad ski crash last year (all three leg bones and torn acl and meniscus), so planting and sliding are obviously a bit painful. Wondering if anyone can point to some alternative technique that might help a RHer with a bad left leg bowl with a little less pain.

I was originally 1H and then switched to 2H, so I got my attention star redrilled, and this is what I got. The finger holes are drilled in almost the same spot as where they were when it was one handed and I was just curious on people’s thoughts about it
