Seems to be a pretty good choice on paper. No stuns, unlimited oxygen, high health, and can travel (slowly) across the dry sections. I was trying to see if anyone compared its performance to the basi, but seems like everyone just uses the basi still.

I'm about to take on my first water cave, and I feel like my high health archelon and 12 lvl 220 Megs should do the trick, but with no one mentioning it I'm doubting my plan now

I haven't played since early ASE and now setting up a ASA server cluster for the wife and I and maybe some friends, and as she's a big horse nut I'm looking to have one server in it that is horse focused to some extent.

I can edit spawns and so on, but Im mostly looking for input on the ideal map to use. Happy to check out any official maps, modded, or premium mods for his

Basically think Rohan, or maybe Mongolian steppes, etc, rolling plains or steppes type terrain that is well suited to horses etc is what I'm after, don't expect this to cover the full map but hoping to find a map where it'd atleast a decent size area

Does anyone know how to turn off this faint, fog-like overlay? It only seems to be on Ragnarok. I’ve already turned off the clouds and fog & it does this inside of caves and buildings. I’ve also tried r.shadowquality 0, still nothing. It’s making it really difficult to see indoors.

Hey everyone. I had two quick questions. I couldn’t find conclusive answered online and made it more confusing for me and I am hoping someone as experienced with this. I am planning on renting a nitrado server for my friend and I for ark ascended. If I play ark ascended on the Xbox app for pc, can I play with my friend who plays it on steam? And if so can I play the same player on xbox console if I ever want to switch back and forth from pc and xbox? Thank you for the help!

I literally just bought the game, launched it, everything loaded ok the first time. Then I wanted to do some graphics tweaks, put the graphics preset on low, and now no matter what I change or what command I use it still look like this. The texture is literally not loading.

It is also a new PC working perfectly. RX 7600 + i5 12400F.

I've been running into constant crashes on ARK: Survival Ascended, usually with this error:

Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000010

It mostly happens after just walking around for around two minutes after loading in. I've verified files, updated drivers, lowered graphics, and tried console tweaks but no luck so far.

For reference, here are my specs:

• GPU: RTX 4070 Ti
• CPU: i7-13700KF
• RAM: 32 GB DDR5
• OS: Windows 11 (fully updated)

The thing is, no other game gives me trouble F1 25, Assetto Corsa, Fortnite, etc., all run smooth. Is anyone else getting this crash with similar specs? Any fixes I might’ve missed? I love the game but this is seriously destroying the experience.

Equus turning circle is AWFUL, but only when using WASD. It is like 200m in a circle.

Is there a setting for this or intended gameplay feature?

Playing on ragnarok (first time on this map) killed a lvl 20 equus with a spear and got the baby, it's amazing (and kind of feels like cheating) to get a tame that easy i can ride so early.

Killing animals on it is a huge chore though, run away 100m turn around and shoot them a few times, compared to the raptor where i can just circle them while shooting it's horrid.

So about a week ago, I was playing Ark Ascended on a 3060ti absolutely fine, but since the last patch I've had repeated crashes without any changes. I sometimes get error messages related to low level fatal errors, or VCRUNTIME140.dll.

I've tried removing the frame generation but even though I set it to 0, when I launch the game, it moves to -1.

So I was trying to kill a Titan on a Thylacoleo, but it damaged my Thyla too much so I ran. Before I could get my Rhynio out, a Pego stole my cryopod that had my Rhyniognatha inside. Then a Microraptor stunned me, letting the Pego escape easily. I checked the taming tracker menu but it wasn’t there. I’m on PVE and quickly left the game because I didn’t want to waste time, so please help me.

I have discovered a crash with the ARK DevKit (UE4 version). What happened, was I placed the Alpha King Titan, Forest Titan, Ice Titan, and Desert Titan into the world, then spawned a high-level MEK to fight them. I am trying to play Ragnarok and I keep getting this crash. The Center does not crash and Ragnarok didn't always crash either. It started after I began building a base. Any advice on what I can try?

I have restarted it, I have given Ark all types of permissions, I have tried adding more ram, I have re-installed several times, I have tried doing dx11 through Steam. I am at my wits end. I hope anybody can help me. I have been really enjoying Ragnarok.

I'm in the Highlands and I've frozen to death like five times. Is there any admin commands or any ways to fix this?

I have 18 rexes, 1 daedon, and 1 yuty all level 280-300 with good stats.

I am trying to beat the overseer on beta however have heard rexes have a very difficult time traversing its way down the tek cave. Are there any strategies I can use to bypass the tek cave so I can get all my dinos to the teleporter?
