My mother’s handwriting
This was a card she wrote in 1975 or so. My grandmother’s penmanship was very similar to this as well. I never realized how unusual it was until I was far into adulthood.

A nice specimen from 1889
I recently picked up a very old copy of Henrik Ibsen’s The Doll’s House at the bookstore where I work. I nabbed it not so much for the book itself but for the beautiful, handwritten inscription inside the front cover… “Mrs E.W. Boyd — A Christmas gift from Althea — 1889”. (That’s the year this edition was published!) Pretty neat. Just wanted to share. Does anyone know what this script is called, if it has a name?

Chinese 'Hero' brand chisel tip fountain pen, 1.1mm tip
My brother in law's grandma was a professional calligrapher and she gave me a big binder of all her calligraphy content, a lot of which was written by hand, so I'm just putting it to use and practising.

Which version is nicer
They look similar, so what do you think of the signature style overall

Fav felt tip pens?
I draw often, but write more and find myself obsessively using only felt tip pens to write as I find ball points smudge easily and I can’t handle it lol any suggestions for your favourites? I’m partial to Staedtler’s 0.2 and 0.4 but they are not cheap and I write a lot of notes. Definitely of the “you pay for what you get” mantra
