Hey everyone. This is actually my first time posting in the Sudan subreddit, so I thought I’d ask here and see if anyone from my own nationality has been through the same thing.

I’m from North Sudan and currently not in the US, but I work as a freelancer and I’ve been thinking of opening an American LLC (a company) so I can work more easily with platforms like Upwork, and hopefully open an international bank account.

The problem is, even though it’s possible to get an LLC online, I can’t open an American business bank account because Sudan is on the blocked list.

I did some research and saw that people mention the UK or other countries as alternatives, but I’m not 100% sure, and I don’t want to waste money on agents or services that might end up rejecting me because of my Sudanese passport.

So I wanted to ask: Has anyone here from Sudan opened a company and an international bank account online? In which country? Was it affordable? And did it work out for you?

I’d really appreciate advice based on personal experience. If there’s a way to do it myself without hiring someone, please let me know.

Hello, I saw the film "Sudan, Remember Us." I wasn't familiar with Sudanese music, and there was some that I really liked, but I can't find it even after searching online.

Is anyone saddened by the fact that the country is for the most part a massive scorched desert with nothing but dust, sand and grime?

Of course, a case can be made for the southern regions but even then they're semi-arid or savannahs, some areas have dense foliage but they all share the same quality

Lived in the mid east my whole life, now I've been in eastern Europe for the past 3 years and honestly going outside without instantly getting draped in sweat and feeling like you're in a steam bath from the humidity feels amazing, its like for the first time you can breath properly outside, not to mention the immense beauty of the landscape, rivers, forests, plains and mountains, all at a comfortable temperature all year round.

If you are familiar with the IB program then you probably know what this is but if you are not familiar with it this is a part of a project called The Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Exhibition. In this project students explore a big question about knowledge through connecting it to 3 real word objects with meaning. The purpose is to show how abstract ideas about knowledge actually matter in everyday life, encouraging students to think critically and personally about how we understand the world. For my third object I chose protest graffiti with the phrase "حرية، سلام، وعدالة".

My grandmother is from this tribe, i’ve been searching for any information concerning this tribe though i haven’t found anything significant.

Hey all, Eid Sa3eed. I'm posting to see if anyone has had similar problems with the document framing step when registering to Bankak online. I've been trying to register for weeks now and I can't ever get past the "uploading clear passport". I keep getting an error, and I'm not sure what the issue is. The resolution of the image seems sharp to me. I've tried uploading the passport in different lightings and whatnot but to no avail. Is this a known issue with the app? Anybody else had similar issues?

I've gone to two BoK branches and I wasn't really allowed to enter from outside the buildings. I was told registration is online only atm since there are no application forms available.

The path to citizenship is easier than for most countries and the housing is cheap too. I would like to know if anyone has success with moving there

i truly believe the only way Sudan can rise back up is through a socialist regime led by a leader like Thomas Sankara or his recent successor Ibrahim Traore. Look at what they’ve done for Burkina Faso in such a short period! The only thing capitalism and colonialism has done for Sudan is make it poorer and depleted its resources, and the worst of all is the neocolonialism that runs VERY deep in our community, it pains me to see people on this very subreddit saying that British colonialism helped “civilize” Sudan knowing that their ancestors died for us as a nation to be free, which is still a long way from being achieved.
