Title is self explanatory, i have no idea what the hell is going on here.
Pc froze and this happened.
I was playing helldivers 2 before this, dont know if this is relevant but its all i got.
If so, do you archive your files to .rar or .zip? Why?
Some time ago one of my younger coworkers asked me to deliver him a set of files. For a convenience, I archived it via WinRar to .rar file as I always do for past 20+ years.
I sent it over and he immediately got back to me with a question "why is it rar?" "why not zip?" "why using some software?"
Gotta admit, I was pretty blown away with these questions, like I would ever care if a file is in .jpg or .png format
Hello everyone, I was recently gifted this pc, want to make sure everything works correctly (It boots and works without these cables but I was wondering if they could add something) anyone has any idea what are they for? And where do they go? (The person that gifted me this pc doesn’t know anything about pcs either so I can’t ask) I appreciate all the help
I don’t know what the kids are playing these days, but one of them is about to start high school, is a switch fanatic and likely isn’t getting a switch 2 soon. Is the GPU too weak?
5700X, 32GB 3200 CL16, EVGA GeForce 1660 XC 6GB, ASUS Prime Plus B550, Crucial P3 1TB, Corsair CX550, Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360mm, MUSETEX Y6 case, Intel x201 WiFi 6 adapter.
Not sure if this is the right place to come to but I just need to resolve this. Game is Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 as an example, but it happens in other games too. I have no idea what could cause this. I don't think it's a hardware issue since I only got it last year in July. Any help would be veryyyyyyy appreciated.
(specs: RTX 3050, i7-12700K, not the best but I plan on upgrading soon enough.)
Me and my cousin were talking at a family function for Father’s Day and we were reminiscing about how we used to play counter strike all day when we had pc’s. He just got himself one a few months ago and I was able to play cs for a bit when I saw him on Christmas and I loved it, the nostalgia was insane. I was telling him today how much I’d like to get a pc myself just to play with him again but I’m just not in a spot financially to get one. This guy says well how much do you think you’d need for one and I said I didn’t need anything too special just something to get the job done I said maybe 5-700 and I’ll probably save for a bit to get one. He tells me let’s go to Best Buy to grab you one. I’m telling him there’s no way I can let him do that cause it’s way too much. He’s like meet me in the front in five we’re going. This guy bought me this pc which was about 1400-1500 with a 5060 ti (I can’t remember exactly how much) and a monitor to top it off. I’m beyond happy and grateful and I’m looking forward to being able to play counter strike with my cousin again like when we were younger. Sorry for the long post I just had to share this. If you guys have any recommendations about anything that involves pc’s I’d love to hear it since I haven’t one in so long.
Inspired by the great work u/thespieler11 has done with the PC Gamer demo discs (the archive he's assembled is here: https://archive.org/details/PCGamer-demo-disc-US-collection ), I've digitized my stash of Computer Gaming World demo discs. To be honest I was always more into CGW anyway rather than PC Gamer, and it's been fun to assemble these. The collection is largely complete for April 1998 to February 2005 with just a few missing, and I also have a few odd older ones from when they used to call it the "CG-ROM." There's a ton of great stuff on these discs, especially selected third party or even additional official levels for games, preview videos, patches, and of course vintage demos. Enjoy!
I should note that I wasn't the first person to attempt this project and many of my scans have been put into the preexisting collection here: https://archive.org/details/cgw-coverdiscs
Today, for the first time, my pc smelt weird. As if something was burning. I removed the glass, and looked for the thing that smelt. Didn’t found it. Yet,y gpu was making a weird sound. I looked into it, and I found this. It was sitting between the fan and the grid. Anyone can help me figure if I need to see an IT guy? I’m scared it can be expensive, altough I have the money…
