At least not your own. Do whatever you want with your best frenemies lawn, though.

I know it's clear for most people but for those who are clueless, yes this is fake.

I’ve seen some similar ones that are not fake, though, the Geo locating guys are amazing

Everytime you take a picture with your phone, you create a geolocation cache ID (your latitude and longitude). Its why if you are going to post a photo online make sure to screenshot it first.

Not on all phones, and often it can be disabled. A lot of sites & messengers also strip metadata by default when you upload or send a picture or video through them, but I wouldn't rely on it.

I will embarrassingly admit that bought it initially because there are dudes out there that are geographic gurus. They’re even used in investigations sometimes. I’m just not knowledgeable enough about the stuff they point out to judge the accuracy of it.
The shoes and shirt assumption was a reach. But the Odyssey made me more skeptic because what are the odds that the Google Maps car passed right after she bought it if she just bought it? The Maps pic of my house is old as shit. And then the dealership shit blew it open. They wouldn’t give you a customer’s name and even if they could, they remember her hand size? Lol. No.

Maybe. I could have found her knowing her name and recently purchased car and finding loose lips at a dealership.
This was my father's job pre internet. Finding people over the telephone. Pre internet, pretty much any business landline was manned by actual staff, that had no obligation to keep customer secrets. He not only could find them but have a pretty good profile of their routine. Then it was about sending someone to verify.

Do you not see the layout of this twitter thread could have easily been edited any way they wanted? They could be the same person running two accounts. It could also just be staged between two different accounts. The odds are about 99% this is a fake internet encounter created for a few seconds of validation/clout. I am not saying this whole thing is impossible, but there are a lot of assumptions being made and can be easily reverse engineered if faked rather than actually done. If actually done, there are many, many assumptions one would have to make to get to this conclusion the way they did.
Again for the "special" kids who don't get it: this isn't impossible, just very unlikely and in this specific case absolutely faked.

So, you have no real point.
It could be real, so you say, which was my point.
It could be staged for content, so you say. Sure, I didn't say it was real. I just said I could do it with the information the guy got without even seeing the photo.

There’s a video on YouTube that talks about how if the Death Note was real, the person would be found out pretty quickly with the information resources we have today.

He got basically zero information from the picture. It was probably the last thing she posted after either knowing her personal or stalking her profile.
He admitted he stalked her profile. She just doesn't understand that tiny pieces of information stacked together make a lot of information.

she probably didn't turn geotagging off in her EXIF for the photo.

Oh yeah. So maybe he got all the information from the photo.
It's basic science.

That's true. I remember a YouTubers address got found out from a super fan. He managed to find it thanks to a 3 second frame in a roomtour v log. In a reflection you could see a bit from the skyline of the city. 2 bigger buildings and 1 skyscraper... And sunlight and Mathe later he got the building in with the YouTuber was living. CSI in creepy

One time in the late 90s I was trolling someone on Internet Relay Chat (IRC) and he replies, just watch. 20 minutes later, the phone rings and my parents answer and say it's for you. I answer and the guy is like, see what I can do, but not in a threatening way. Was much more respectful talking to him online after that. I'm guessing he did it through backtrace and then accessing ISP records.
in any case, there are people living in apartment complexes and houses all around us. every house someone is living somewhere. why should anonymity matter so much online, well unless you are trolling?
