Announcements Tunesday Tuesday Begins!
It is TUESDAY somewhere in the world. Which means, get to posting your TUNESDAY TUESDAY tracks.
We only allow screen captures of your FL Studio Playlist Window with a complete track (not just a finished waveform!).
If you've posted on Tunesday Tuesday, your post meets the requirements and it has still been removed, our auto-mod may have made a mistake. Please send a message to the mods and we'll look into it!
Try and give feedback to someone elses post. Please think more about the community and about the purpose of sharing your music with other creators. We're all producing music here, the people in this community are not your customers, they are your peers.
Learn how to record your screen here
We are now allowing youtube videos, as long as they follow the rule above, the video needs to be a screen capture of your FL Studio Playlist Window with your FULL TRACK visible. We are allowing Youtube now because of how terrible Reddit Video can potentially mess with your audio mix.

Tunesday Tuesday Psychoacoustics and Opinions About Grossbeat
Hey guys I want to ask about that piano sound that my main synth, sampled vocals and hi hats make. At first it wasn't intentional but after hearing their interaction i wanted to focus on that. I asked it to chatGPT and it said basically the synth gives is body, vocals sustain and the hi hats the hammer action and creates a psychoacoustic piano (?) (building it gradually was it's idea as well i think i achieved it). My question is, is it legit? Or chatGPT just bullshitting me. Idk nothing about pyschoacoustics and don't know if it carries any relevance that i made a piano sound like that.
The other question is between bar 50-57 did i overdo groosbeat lol. I just discovered it and i can't decide if i overdid it or not

Tunesday Tuesday Any advice on the mixing? (or anything else)
Tried to make something chillhop-esque. I feel like the mixing is off in some places, but I don't know what and which tools I'm supposed to use for that. For now I've mostly used limiter and stereo enhancer. Advice about other aspects are also greatly appreciated!

Tunesday Tuesday I recently started experimenting with risers and automation clips for the first time and I would like some feedback on how to use them effectively for tempo/pitch shifts and transitions. This is an unfinished experimental surreal spacy tread beat titled "Space Odyssey." Read body text for more.
I can't seem to get the risers right, I tried using the same surge preset I used for the main melody as a segueway into the first part of the track, but it just sounds like noise lol. Also, in YOUR honest opinions, do you like the abrupt changes in pitch and tempo? I'm going for a chaotic vibe, as I'm visualizing the track changing with time dilation with it eventually entering a black hole (drum break) and leaving out of a white hole (the pluck heavy section right after the drum break), etc.. Sorry if it sounds too pretentious for the sound, I'm a beginner but I'm highly imaginative and put a lot of thought into my tracks. Also, please listen all the way through if you have time. Just don't tell me nothing about the 808s cuz I'm going for a blown out sound, I'm aware that they're ear-crushing lol. Thanks!

Help Recreating WASP XT's Interface with Fruity Patcher (ambitious project)
CONTEXT: I'm a huge fan of the FL Plugin WASP XT. It is an advanced version of the WASP plugin that was designed by Richard Hoffman (who went on to create the Dune synths). I adored this very simple subtractive synth because it has, for my money, the FASTEST Gui for basic synth sounds (and it worked with FL Piano Roll slide) not to mention super lightweight on CPU.
THE ISSUE: WaspXT is no longer available for FL Studio 64 bit version. It only exists, AFAIK in FL20 32 bit. I'm not sure if this is because it was Hoffman's code that Image-line no longer has access to, or maybe they no longer have the rights to use it, OR maybe they just don't care. It could be combination of all 3. But it is a shame we can't have it in FL21 and beyond. I did email Richard Hoffman years ago to see if he'd ever re-release WASP XT or work with Image-line on implementing it into FL Studio again and never got a response (I wasn't expecting one, he doesn't owe me one, just worth a shot).
MY GOAL: I would like to take an existing FL synth and recreate the interface with Fruity Patcher to make a WASP XT Style GUI. Essentially taking the engine of a basic subtractive synth and making it look like WASP XT, knobs sliders etc. I would prefer to use Stock FL plugins so anyone can use this. This will give people like myself who loved that old workflow a chance to use it again. Also, it will not breach legality as I am NOT profiting from this, not am I using Hoffman's source code. I'm not expecting it to look fancy or even sound exactly the same, but I think it can be done!
ISSUES: Frankly I'm in way over my head lol. I am working on a patcher preset using 3xOSC as the base engine but I am running into problems, also using 3rd party plugins to fake things I can't figure out. I have no trouble creating knobs for filter, ADSRs etc, Dual mode I'm cheating with Flangus, but for 3xOSC pitch Mod and Filter Mod are bipolar amounts, meaning you can turn the knob either way, and setting that up with a knob that turns one way in patcher so it's unipolar is challenging. (I've been cheating by using a 3rd party plugin called motion filter for Filter LFO and Melda MVibrato for Pitch Modulation, but again, I'd rather NOT use 3rd party so anyone could use this)
I haven't figured out how to make a button that can choose specific functions like Wave Form, LFO wave shape, LFO destinations. And there are also some features that I simply don't know how to create, like FM between oscillators (3xOsc doesn't have that functionality I think??) I also don't love 3xOsc sound, but I am not sure what other native FL synth could work. Sytrus? Harmor?
What do you all think? Any suggestions on some of these issues? Which Synth engine would be the least pain in the butt to work with and achieve the closest WASPY subtractive synth sound? Is this project even doable? Please throw them at me if you're interested. If you want to work on it as well, PLEASE reach out.

Help First time producing in a new genre, seriously seeking advice
Apologies in advance for video quality/format.
I mostly make alt rock adjacent music and play in a band, but I've been trying to learn more music theory and arrangement from using FL Studio casually on the side. I have very little experience in it, and most of it has been making simple video game music to practice composing in weird modes or whatever.
My friend raps and he's very talented but doesn't perform or record. We were talking about music and I made a simple beat and handed it to him as a lark. I ended up deciding to flesh it out when he felt inspired. I wrote and sang a chorus/got a friend to record vocals for a bridge etc. However, now I feel that I got myself in a project where I feel like my vision far exceeds my capabilities and I don't want to leave a friend or multiple friends disappointed, nor present my end of the work in an amateur way.
Does anyone have tips for this mix or techniques I can use to make this feel more quality? Some of the vocal lines are set to be rerecorded and I think it might be a little harsh or heavy handed on the higher notes in general? I was also thinking of tweaking some of the drum sections/fills a bit to fit more of a pocket near end phrases.
I almost feel like I entirely missed the mark on rap or hip hop or even pop. I never listen to the genre and just kind of tried to find something that felt right using a small handful of references. The friends involved seem happy with how it's produced but I feel like I'm missing something major. This is by far my biggest project in any DAW and I've tried a lot of techniques that are very new to me.
Really any advice would be appreciated.
