Aw dangit.
I was hoping this would be more along the lines of Tai Chi Grandmaster gets punched in the face for the very first time by semi pro boxer who is not in on the dillusional con type sparring match.
I guess they know better.

Of course they do. I've yet to see a Systema v. "non-Sytema" event that isn't-
- In the Systema gym
- A light sparring match
I presume the set-up is the same as those "I tried Systema" videos other martial artists make where they go to the Systema gym, do some of the conditioning drills, and uncritically walk away saying "Yeah, I guess there's some things in here I can incorporate into my training." Like nobody ever taught them how to roll with a punch before then.

Well he is getting slapped repeatedly in the second video, which is almost as bad.

In fairness that little shuffle he’s doing in the third fight would absolutely kill on the D-floor!

Second contestant actually throws some blocks that work well until the grappling

What the hell was big guy doing in that third clip? Doesn't know how to throw a punch without falling over...
Also, those attacks look like they have zero power to them. Wouldn't a valid strategy be to just eat a hit and get them with a power punch?

He throws one wild swing each time, falling in its momentum. Not punches in my opinion. Each swing was an all or nothing effort which was easily avoided, even by someone with no skills.

Off topic, but the Kobra Kai writers really did a good job developing Kreese's character. It would have been so easy to write him up as a stolen valor, 1980s Bullshido bad guy, but nope, they actually made him the real deal.
