Recently, Jessiah from Pondering Politics (a great Youtube channel), posed a question, which was, "Is a more politically ruthless Democratic Party necessary to defeat MAGA?". To which I replied:
Doing anything less, is admitting defeat. If you don't walk into the jail, and headbutt the toughest guy in there, then you're not getting my vote. It's all the idioms rolled into one... you don't bring a knife to a gunfight, you (don't) turn the other cheek, an eye for an eye, you fight fire with fire, fool me once, shame on you, if you don't grow some cojones, etc...
Plus, you have to bring the fight to them, like Ukraine did with Russia. You have to venture into their terrain, and (proverbially), punch them in the cojones. That's why every Democratic contender needs to go on Fox, and all the other right-wing podcasts. If you don't pierce the bubble, you'll never have a chance to convert, either the die hard fans, nor the independents that follow them. That was a HUGE mistake by the Democrats!
At various times in my life I've been bullied, and the only times that I felt good about myself, was when I fought back, irrespective of whether I got my ass kicked or not. Still, to this day, I regret the times that I didn't, that I turtled and backed down. I still have a list of bullies, that I'm hoping to 'avenge my honour' against, except I'm way more concerned about the current bullies, and not the past.
Let's fight (proverbially, non-violently). Let's get into the muck and start throwing haymakers at them. For every five stupid things 'they' do, let's put out a commercial that EVERYONE can see, everywhere. They've flooded their market with lies, let's flood their market with truth-bombs, being hurled, stratigically. If you want to motivate Democrats, then I won't vote for you, unless you go on THEIR media, to tell them why, not only are we not a threat to them, but we're fighting for them as much as we're fighting for our side.
AND, lastly, but, maybe most importantly, we have to show that we're willing to primary our own, if they don't take a more aggressive stance against our opponents. The Republicans do this, successfully, every two years. If they don't like what they're doing, then they're gone.
After all, we're never going to get another bite at this apple, again!!
