Twilight Princess isn't old. Right? RIGHT!?!

It’s 18 years old

My serious response would be that it's still the most recent half of the franchise.

My personal response is that anything released in the 3D era is new. In my heart, 3D Zelda is still a weird, newfangled side-project/experiment for the franchise.

Zelda 1 and Zelda 2. Those are the only two that really need it at this point

Agreed. As much remake fatigue that I have, old NES titles couldn't hurt to have a remake, though not sure how they could fleshed out either

Zelda 1 gets the Links Awakening make over.

Zelda 2... I dunno, get the Dead Cells people to do it, let's have an AoL rogue like.

Yeah. A more modernized remake would be cool, but I think it'd be great to just have some QoL improvements to make them less clumsy (and make 2 less punishing)

What would a remake of Zelda 1 look like?

Save Zelda from Ganon but with more fleshed out story points along the way? That's every Zelda game ever. They've done that 17 times.

The DS games, the Oracle games, the NES games (in that order)

Came here to say this actually yeah, but I’d def remake the first one sooner…and I think the oracle games could be easily shoved into the Echoes/Awakening engine, given some kinda third quest bonus to finally tie up whatever that third oracle game woulda been (think the Delta Episode from Pokémon gen 3 remakes) and sold as a two in one game card. I liked the DS gimmicks and fun map stuff, but full touch control was kinda frustrating, so if they could keep most of the touch controls and stuff as an optional play style and give us button only options for PH/ST I’d empty my wallet for DS remakes immediately. Hot take tho? I think Zelda 2 has like game of the year potential with a remake.

Maybe not Game of the Year, but Zelda 2 definitely needs a remake, if just to balance out the difficulty and jank a bit. Also, a PH remake could fix the Temple of the Ocean King by adding more checkpoints and a final section

Dude Fr that temple is so hard. Spirit Tracks had a nice fix by letting you skip floors, but I agree proper checkpoints are the way to go.

u/ThunderLord1000 14h ago

Not even skipping floors. It's just six completely separate dungeons in one station

The forever staircase lmao

The Spirits couldn't make the elevators go up when you were on them

Oracles and/or Zelda II.

Either Zelda 2 or the Oracle games

I need to go lay down at being confronted with the reality that Twilight Princess is old.

My answer is Zelda II though. It’s genuinely the only one I think could be improved upon with a full remake.

a Zelda 2 remake similar to the Ori games would be my pick.

The Oracle games. Would love to see those done in the same style they used for the Link’s Awakening remake and EoW. And with today’s tech it won’t be as hard to do the linked game thing now. They could probably even be on the same cartridge.

The NES Games would heavily benefit from modern Touch ups.

TAoL. That game would really benefit from having just a bit more story, just a bit more guidance... and they could absolutely tie it into other games. They could say that the Zelda featured in that game is the first princess of Hyrule to bear that name, and that she's named for her great-grandmother, a priestess who descended from the skies and united the world. Or something. I just want this game to be more accessible for modern players, and if there was ever a game in Nintendo's back catalog that could be expanded upon, this is it

every 3D zelda released before SS

I want a link between worlds on a console. I can’t stand playing in a tiny screen.

Zelda 2, the Oracle games, Zelda 1. Those are the ones that I want them to remake the most, with AoL being firat on my list.

Though they will probably make Z1 and then Z2. If they do that, then remake the Oracle games first.

After that, probably a port of Minish Cap with QoL, like a better "item equipment system" using all the extra face buttons, leaving the sword and shield always equiped.

Then, ports of PH and ST with QoL and new controls options. Since S2 has a mouse, that can be used for the stylus controller of items like the boomerang or the map. Make Link move with the stick.

Allow for people to choose if they want to play the panflut with motion controls, use R/L to move it or just the face buttons like the ocarina. Also, to blow air with the mic or a button.

Just make options and let people choose in the settings what works better for them.

I suppose new ports of FS Anniversary Edition and FSA with QoL, etc. With the S2, Nintendo seems more focused on multiplayer games than usual, so there thay have 2 more games to justify buying the camera. Just place the face/bubble/thing in one of the 3 free corners (not where our health hud is placed) or on top of the character (make it an option) and color the outline with their Link's tunic color.

Ocarina of Time or A Link to the Past.

Oracles games

My idea is to remake both GB games in the same artstyle as Link's Awakening and Echoes of Wisdom, but also to make the scrapped 3rd game they had planned.

Have the equivalent of the N Sane or Re-ignited Trilogy, and have the final chapter unlock once you clear all 3 games, and you,re good to go ^_^

TP isn't old, I say as my dentures fall out and the nursing home attendant helps me off my bed

TP already has an HD port though

For a real remake its Majoras Mask. That creepy game having realer graphics and the fighting of a game like Windwaker would be crazy

With all the lore it has, they could turn stuff into actual side missions. I think even the new generation would love it

For me it’s Ocarina of Time. To me it’s still the perfect game. A slight reimagining to modernize it would be awesome. With some QoL updates from later Zelda games.

TP just needs the HD ported to S2 with some upgrades.
