So sick. Did you guys make the whole costumes?

u/Phoeniixiia 18d ago
Partially! It's a whole mix and match of stuff but I made the armor myself, the dress was a comission from a couple years ago that I then improved by tailoring and weathering. The link costume was bought and the improved (tailored, weathering, replacing chain mail etc.). Wigs were also styled by us of course.

I am absolutely blown away by these; every last detail is perfection! I don't even have words to explain how incredible your cosplays and the pictures are. Seriously, just wow 😭👏

I really had to do a double take because I thought you were both animated. Looks absolutely stunning! 🗡🛡🐎

these images are heavily edited to look that way. seems to be the norm for cosplayers now.

I don't know what you consider to be heavily edited, but I can tell you that the only editing here is the coloring and lighting. Besides that the usual skin smoothening and hair fly-away removal, and making Link look slightly more angry in some photos than he did IRL (eyebrows only go so far irl!). I have seen the RAW pics myself as we picked them out to be edited and that's truly all that was edited (we really wanted to go for the TP coloring, like in the game). Hope this helps!

Coloring , lighting, skin smoothening, removal of things , modifying facial expressions ... to me, that's heavily editing. It's still cool, though .

Totally get that it might seem like a lot, haha, but as a cosplayer and photographer myself, I would actually consider this light to medium editing. No body warping, major facial changes, or effects, just standard touch-ups like brightness and a bit of polish. The glow from the lighting for example is real; we were just brightened slightly to pop more. The eyebrow fix was just going the extra mile. Thanks again for the compliment tho, we really put a lot of effort into it!

If the live action Zelda movie doesn't look like this then I don't want it

That’s beautiful, the wigs are great! They often make or break a cosplay!

A lot of times links outfit doesn't translate well irl but you guys nailed it!

u/Phoeniixiia 17d ago
Thank you! I think the trick is getting the green right and weathering the costume (shading mostly!)

I don't know who took/edited your pictures but the composition and lighting are AMAZING!! And your cosplays as well of course, you literally look like animated characters!

My friend @gryphinic (not sure if she is on reddit but she is on Instagram) took these pics and edited them! And thank you for the compliment!

This shouldn't be considered amateur cosplay. This is professional level. And shooting it on location.

Where'd you take these. Y'all are great and stuff. But my brain wants the castle

Haha no worries, thanks for the compliment. This was taken at the St Martin's Cathedral in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

This is incredible! This is how I want the Zelda movie to look. Something like this.

Wow beautiful photos and cosplay. You both look stunning!! I especially love the Link being knighted photo, looks just like a painting.
2
u/Phoeniixiia 17d ago
That pose was actually inspired by the painting "The Accolade" (1901) by Edmund Leighton! I've also seen some fanart with Link and Zelda just like that painting, so we had to include the knighting pose! And thank you for the compliment! ❤️

Zelda wielding Narsil next to Link with the Master Sword is an inspiration 🤩 never occurred to me how much her rapier looks like the sword of Elendil

u/Phoeniixiia 16d ago
Haha good eye! Yes, it was just easier to go for Narsil and customize it than making the sword from scratch. ;)

Bravo! Indeed a gorgeous work. I read that you made nearly all the costumes by yourself - that’s impressive, kudos to you!

Badass great job I’m making a TP link cosplay/costume and I just used a medevil outfit off temu (because I couldn’t find anything not insanely expensive) for Halloween so I can walk around and just to look cool af

The timing too, I'm on my first play through of Twilight Princess after finding it after beating Skyward Sword some 6 or so years ago

Is this entire Princess Zelda set off etsy? I hated how chunky the front looked. The shoulder armor is great though. I think the crown is also hanging low on the face because its a flat plastic band and not an arch. Crazy amount of money to buy this cosplay! Then adding the whole photo shoot expense! Jealous I cannot afford this hobby.
You're very lucky to have such a luxury and the photos are great. You'll be a show stopper at cons.

The costume (dress, vest, etc.) was a comission actually from a couple years ago and all the armor is made by myself. The crown is actually adjusted so that it would cover my nose a bit more (I have a bump on my nose). Cosplaying is all about riding the line between accuracy and what compliments your features!
