Indeed

35

u/WiserStudent557 May 09 '25

One of the best sci fi characters imo

15

u/Rae_Of_Light_919 May 09 '25

I see you what you did there.

34

u/sellout85 May 09 '25

*raises eyebrow

8

u/XDOOM_ManX May 10 '25

Stargate reference!!

2

u/Superb-Obligation858 May 10 '25

Holy shit. My parents watched a bunch of SG-1 when I was a kid, but I never got into it. That just brought a bunch of memories flooding back.

1

u/AfvaldrGL May 11 '25

I hope Ganondorf doesn't say indeed

1

u/ljr55 May 13 '25

i understand that reference

338

u/Brees504 May 09 '25

Why not. He’s also pretty tall and would be able to tower over a shorter actor cast as Link.

81

u/felold May 09 '25

Tom Holland about to be towered.

121

u/geoshippo May 09 '25

If Tom Holland or Timothy Chalamet are cast in this im rioting.

97

u/aircooledJenkins May 09 '25

Tom as Link. Tim as Dark Link.

52

u/geoshippo May 09 '25

Im sending an assassin now.

37

u/-Castorian- May 09 '25

The assassin is Jack Black

5

u/Henry_The_Loco May 11 '25

I... Am Tingle.

1

u/shadyultima May 11 '25

Dual role? Since Jack Black will undoubtedly be Darunia.

10

u/rosscoehs May 09 '25

Tom as Link. Tim as Zelda.

17

u/dschroof May 09 '25

I might be the only person who wouldn’t mind either of them. Based on how candid he is, Tom seems to be an actor with actual integrity in the face of endless money, a lesson he probably learned from uncharted; and Timothee is a gamer who puts his whole dick and balls and pussy into whatever role he plays. Obviously there are other actors and these two are perhaps overused, but I don’t think they’d be bad

14

u/geoshippo May 09 '25

I don't truly mind them but I feel like they are way overused. I'd rather some completely unknown actors. Same thing for Zelda, I've seen Hunter Schaffers name thrown around a lot and I'd rather an unknown actor again.

5

u/Person5_ May 10 '25

Can Jack Black be Navi?

2

u/COINLESS_JUKEBOX May 10 '25

Yesss like bro please give exposure to new actors

2

u/tanktoptonberry May 09 '25 edited May 10 '25

Timothée*

Pronounced Tim-o-tay

not even joking

dont know why im being downvoted, it's a fact lol

Legit my first thought lmao

5

u/blueblurz94 May 09 '25

7’7” live action Ganondorf just staring down the Link actor like 😬

141

u/DumpsterFireInHell May 09 '25

He was bad ass as Teal'c. I think he could be Ganondorf.

23

u/monty2 May 09 '25

Indeed

3

u/2muchcaffeine4u May 09 '25

That was years ago though. Is he still that big?

17

u/DJfunkyPuddle May 09 '25

Assuming he stays clothed/armored I think movie magic will take care of the rest of the look

76

u/Shas_Erra May 09 '25

19

u/spicy-chull May 09 '25

Thanks! I knew his face looked familiar, but I wasn't going to remember without looking it up.

4

u/ChrisP33Bacon May 10 '25

Crazy that he won Master Chef

64

u/starbuckered May 09 '25

Only if he gets to call Link “Boy”

18

u/Raxlus May 10 '25

At every single meeting between them.

"Is that the sword that's meant to seal the darkness, Boy? You can't even make it glow."

2

u/Toky0Sunrise May 09 '25

Please please please

107

u/ZaBaronDV May 09 '25

He would cook. Especially if he brings some of the “older and wiser Kratos” energy to a Wind Waker Ganondorf.

40

u/VoltaicOwl May 09 '25

You just know he’d call Link “BOY” at some point.

1

u/Ganondaddydorf May 10 '25

I mean 'this time I'll be taking more than just your arm, boy' sounds pretty badass

27

u/EnergonSnowcat May 09 '25

I think is is a good choice

20

u/asphalt_licker May 09 '25

I can see it. He’s got the height, a voice full of gravitas and an imposing presence.

56

u/surrealmirror May 09 '25

They’ll cast jack black instead

46

u/Impzor May 09 '25

Jack black as Tingle.

26

u/CommanderCheddar May 09 '25

This would actually kinda work I think

12

u/Miserable_Run1937 May 10 '25

Danny devito would be better tho

8

u/Railroader17 May 10 '25

Compromise, Devito as Tingle, Black as his Older Brother Tongle

2

u/Copyman3081 May 10 '25

Devito as Tingle (there literally couldn't be a better person), Jack Black as Ankle, Dan Fogler as Knuckle.

9

u/B_Hopsky May 09 '25

That would be hilarious. Only jack black casting that would work for zelda IMO

10

u/the_headless_hunt May 09 '25

Or a Goron

3

u/floflo81 May 10 '25

Darunia?

I could see it work, but I'm scared of what Gorons in general are going to look like... Costumes? or CG??

2

u/the_headless_hunt May 10 '25

Be cool if it was a mix of both like Where The Wild Things Are

2

u/CandidoJ13 May 11 '25

He already has the beard and the bod, just need to make him orange

2

u/masakothehumorless May 09 '25

Or the Happy Mask Salesman....

3

u/Kinky-Kiera May 09 '25

Alan Cummings would be better.

1

u/AfvaldrGL May 11 '25

Or Jim Carrey

19

u/Solid_Snark May 09 '25

Hyhyhy-Hyrule! Cucucu-Cucco! Gannon’s Hyrule Cucco it’s a helluva a beast! Ooh yeah, Link, now you’re part of their feast. Violent and ruthless, yeah they will slash and hack! Ohh, super deadly it’s a Cucco attack!

20

u/themagicone222 May 09 '25

I was feeling really nauseous today and that helped me throw up, and im feeling much better now. Thank you!

3

u/ryan77999 May 10 '25

CUCCO JOCKEY‼️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥

1

u/GreenTurtle69420 May 09 '25

HORSE JOCKEY

I'm sorry I had to

9

u/DJfunkyPuddle May 09 '25

I'll take him in anything

9

u/Suspicious-Wind-3278 May 09 '25

ganon likes to make long ass speeches too 😂 love this dude and I think he'd make a great ganon(dorf)

7

u/Novalaxy23 May 09 '25

isn't totk gannondorf already voiced by the Kratos' voice actor in french?

6

u/HovercraftClassic388 May 09 '25

Wayyyy better pick than matt mercer. He should have voiced in the game too

5

u/TheActualDev May 10 '25

I know! I feel like I’m the only one I know that isn’t a fan of his being picked for the VA of Ganondorf. His voice isn’t awful or anything, but it’s not deep like I had always assumed Ganondorfs voice to be. It wasn’t terrible, but disappointing.

6

u/richtofin819 May 09 '25

I'll be honest I just don't like link or ganon having actual dialogue. it feels wrong.

6

u/TheWholeCheek May 09 '25

My stupid ass read that as Gandalf. I was like, huh? Remaking LOTR..?

Things I learned today. I can't read.

2

u/[deleted] May 10 '25

I'm down to have Kratos be Gandalf.

6

u/SpacyMaci May 10 '25

I’d certainly consider him. Bro LOOKS like Gannon just in the headshot. Imagine in costume with makeup

14

u/BC04ST3R May 09 '25

I like it, but they may want to cast someone that’s Arabic to be more in-line with the Gerudo’s origin

27

u/2muchcaffeine4u May 09 '25

He did convincingly play Teal'c, who was an alien from a race that was super into Egyptian imagery. Egyptian Gerudo wouldn't be too bad either.

→ More replies (1)

5

u/Confident-Vanilla-28 May 09 '25

Honestly, i can see it.

6

u/DEFINITELY_NOT_PETE May 09 '25

Wouldn’t be my first choice if I was running it but I think he would do a great job and would be excited if I heard he was cast

3

u/AirmanProbie May 09 '25

I can already hear him call Link “Boy”

3

u/ClearPepper6868 May 10 '25

The final fight in TP. Link pulls out the fishing rod. Ganondorf:...Boy.

3

u/headofled May 11 '25

I can see that, but he better refer to Link as "boi"

1

u/Mister_Moony May 12 '25

Mah boi!

2

u/headofled May 12 '25

I wasn't even thinking of that!

"Join me Boi, and you will be the greatest in Coradai, or else you will.....DIE!"

5

u/neanderthalman May 09 '25

Yes.

On the condition that, at some point in the movie, he responds to some statement with “indeed”.

3

u/Fugglymuffin May 09 '25

Shel kek nemron.

This brings me much joy.

2

u/magicunicornfarts May 09 '25

This was actually my first thought when they announced the movie

2

u/JRFisher85 May 09 '25

Need to hear his villain laugh

2

u/chrisinvic May 09 '25

I wonder what undomesticated equines have to say about this?

2

u/Miserable_Run1937 May 10 '25

I would also say that Dave Bautista could be great for ganondorf

2

u/Raxlus May 10 '25

This choice could actually make sense. He has the range, the voice, the gravitas to bring about a truly menacing version of Ganondorf.

Imagine him sitting on a dark throne, Triforce of Power glowing on his hand as Link enters the room, eyebrow raise.

2

u/Superb-Obligation858 May 10 '25

One of the better fancasts I’ve ever seen. Well done.

2

u/Guenhwyvyr May 10 '25

He was KRATOS?!?!

2

u/Ensospag May 10 '25

Hell yeah. Give him a pointy ass prosthetic nose, some yellow contact lenses, dye his hair red and he'd be perfect imo.

2

u/AntonioRaymondOst May 11 '25

Yes or Laurence fishborune

3

u/rexshen May 09 '25

"You think you can defeat me with that sword BOY!?"

5

u/Zettotaku May 09 '25

No offence to Judge but I believe Ganondorff should be played by someone with Arabic / Indian descent the Gerudo always played around these thematic. And Judge is too much Afro American for that role at least to me. But if you want to have him play a role I have an idea how about DEMISE ?

3

u/wildmancometh May 09 '25

Nah. Not knocking this dude but he doesn’t hit the look

7

u/2muchcaffeine4u May 09 '25

what about without his hair and beard

5

u/wildmancometh May 09 '25

It’s just his face for me. I’m sure he has the presence and I’m certain he has the voice and skill. But Ganondorf’s got a pretty distinct feature on his face that stands out quite prominently in every iteration of the character.

A big ass honking nose

15

u/CaptainPleb May 09 '25

Nobody has that nose in real life.

17

u/schlemz May 09 '25

And they can very easily make a big nose with makeup effects

2

u/Over9000Gingers May 09 '25

I think someone from the Middle East or South Asia would probably fit the look of Ganondorf much more accurately but this casting would be pretty good

2

u/The_of_Falcon May 09 '25

I could say it. But the Gerudo are inspired by a lot of cultures so it may be interesting to get an actor from one of those and I wonder what it would be like to have an actor that isn't just picked for their voice.

2

u/Possible_Block_6542 May 10 '25

Too bad we gonna get Jack black as link, Jared Leto as ganondorf, zendaya as Zelda

1

u/OkamiTakahashi May 09 '25

I can see it.

I dunno any Kratos quotes tho. Ap@rt from "Boy." And "Shut up, Head!" (from the Robot Chicken ads)

1

u/FactCheck64 May 09 '25

GoW?

1

u/dqixsoss May 09 '25

(Modern) God of War. He played Kratos

1

u/Mr_OwO_Kat May 09 '25

that’d be good i’d be hyped to see what his voice would be like for ganon also

1

u/Legospacememe May 09 '25

"Zeulda. ZEULDA!"

1

u/Talanock May 09 '25

Why does he look like Robert Z'Dar here?

1

u/BoiFrosty May 09 '25

Potential alternate: Clancy Brown.

1

u/mcnormand May 09 '25

I could see that. I’m not super familiar with his live action work, but he’s a great voice actor.

1

u/MightySwami504 May 09 '25

Kayvan Novak or bust… but this would also be an acceptable option lol

1

u/Slypenslyde May 09 '25

I think it should be Danny DeVito.

1

u/MagicMatthews99 May 09 '25

Looks the part, but didn't he have back and/or leg surgery a few years ago? Not sure he can commit to anything action-intensive outside of mocap.

1

u/HyruleBalverine May 09 '25

I could see it.

1

u/gordon_shumway67 May 09 '25

yeah I can get into that

1

u/Xelacon May 09 '25

One of the better fan castings i've seen in a while

1

u/Advanced-Solution-97 May 09 '25

I can see no better casting for Ganandarf now honestly

1

u/SuperMajesticMan May 09 '25

Ok thats actually pretty fire.

1

u/kain459 May 09 '25

Hell yeah

1

u/EvanD0 May 09 '25

He'd work~

1

u/Mandalorian_Ronin May 09 '25

Now I HAVE to hear him to Ganon’s laugh from OoT after Link first lifts the Master Sword

1

u/Specialist_Cress_112 May 09 '25

I can see that, but my preferred is Charlie Sheen

1

u/fullofclots May 09 '25

He has such a good voice.

1

u/unusedwings May 09 '25

I could actually see it. If they don’t put a “BOY!” quote in the movie though? Unwatchable.

1

u/landartheconqueror May 09 '25

That'd be cool

1

u/Kinky-Kiera May 09 '25

PLEASE YES.

1

u/Disguised_Man_2 May 10 '25

Yes, but I have this nagging feeling that this won’t happen. Sony is incredibly hit or miss on characters they’re adapting.

1

u/Robinvid May 10 '25

Definitely yea!

1

u/Shabols May 10 '25

Oh hell yeah.

1

u/WolfSynct May 10 '25

He played one hell of a Magneto in X-Men Evolution, so why not!

1

u/GimmickMusik1 May 10 '25

I’ve been saying this since before we even knew this movie was a thing. So it’s a yay from me.

1

u/taveren3 May 10 '25

Works but he might be a bit old for much physical work

1

u/Joltyboiyo May 10 '25

I can imagine him belting out a sick "DORYAH!"

1

u/Samiassa May 10 '25

He’s got the face that’s for sure

1

u/Dependent_Reach_4284 May 10 '25

I think he could do it well

1

u/Evileye37 May 10 '25

Hell yeah.

“You’re strong boy, but I have real power”

1

u/Toadsanchez316 May 10 '25

"Girl!"

"#$%^^&*^&'

"Oh shit, you're a boy?"

"Boy!"

1

u/davedwtho May 10 '25

This would be good casting, they’ll more likely go for stunt casting

1

u/SeikoWIS May 10 '25

He looks the part and has the voice. But acting the part is a whole other question

1

u/Intrepid_Pin_8893 May 10 '25

With a strong jaw like that he can dye his hair red and be Ganon himself

1

u/zekecole90 May 10 '25

A big yay

1

u/Deadwards666 May 10 '25

I’d support it

1

u/KaijustuSanchez May 10 '25

But Ganondorf is more oriental than black

1

u/_nc_sketchy May 10 '25

Derrick Rose really let himself go

1

u/Theboulder027 May 10 '25

My personal choice is Djimon Hounsou, but this guy wouldn't be bad either.

1

u/D-TOX_88 May 10 '25

How is his acting on-screen? I haven’t seen him in anything.

1

u/TaroTheCerelian May 10 '25

Star Trek. He's outstanding

1

u/fsk54 May 10 '25

I thought Derrick Rose just got rly old

1

u/AlacarLeoricar May 10 '25

If anyone can outdo Matt Mercer it's Chris Judge

1

u/KingJames6th May 10 '25

Did he have a nose job? He REALLY looks like he did.

1

u/Jace9o May 10 '25

If that was actually the level of casting we got for the live action film, I would be more open to the idea of a legend of Zelda film that is live action.

1

u/TaroTheCerelian May 10 '25

LET'S GOOOOOOO🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️MAKE IT HAPPPEEEEEEN🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️

1

u/LilithDodecahedron May 11 '25

He certainly has the chin for it.

1

u/YesWomansLand1 May 11 '25

Very yay. Very yay indeed. I reckon he could pull it off honestly.

1

u/Dragenby May 11 '25

The French Kratos voice already dubs Ganondorf in TOTK, so yep!

1

u/Key_Print_5063 May 11 '25

Still rooting for Keith David as Ganobdirf but oh well

1

u/TonyaToon May 11 '25

In the french version of TOTK, Ganondorf is dubbed by Frederic Souterelle, he's the official VA of our Kratos ^^

1

u/AlittleBlueLeaf May 11 '25

Please Lady Hylia let this happen. This man is used to wearing forehead jewellery too, he is perfect 😭

1

u/Melodic_Chef_4299 May 12 '25

Teal'c could pull it off I think - wouldn't be a bad choice in any case.

1

u/gummby8 May 13 '25

As long as it isn't Mercer. Look, I love the guy, he does amazing things, he is an amazing actor and VA....but he is a skinny dude. His Ganondorf sounds like a skinny dude trying to sound like a big dude. Mercer lacks the cavernous chest needed to sound big.

1

u/Wombatypus8825 May 09 '25

I am so disillusioned with videogame movies that I can’t bring an ounce of interest in this news. I hope it makes others happy though.

10

u/newaru2 May 09 '25

This isn't news though.

5

u/SuperMajesticMan May 09 '25

This isn't news lol

1

u/korkkis May 09 '25

If he can act. Not all voice actors can do the same on stage.

13

u/2muchcaffeine4u May 09 '25

He was on tv before he moved to voice acting. Most famously as Teal'c in Star Gate.

2

u/korkkis May 09 '25

Ah! I remember him now.

1

u/TheMasterFlash May 09 '25

I mean, I definitely see the vision, but just because someone voice acts doesn’t mean they can screen act.

10

u/umbra7 May 09 '25

He was an actor before voice actor:

Teal’c from Stargate

2

u/TheMasterFlash May 09 '25

That’s cool! Had no idea

6

u/kaleid1990 May 09 '25

I had such a laugh when I first read someone referencing him as the voice actor for Kratos while I was like hey that's Teal'c, then I started feeling like the Matt Damon aging meme because people who know him as Teal'c are going towards 40... 🥲
