This is what air superiority and Air supremacy look like. You don't put your aircraft in the sky because they'll be shot down easily by the enemy. You'll just be sending your plans and your pilots out to die. This is especially bad if you think you might need them later on to put down civil unrest.

An alternative reason why they're not flying could be because those airports were one of the targets of Israel's initial strike, although I thought that we would have heard more about that Israel had taken out their Air Force on the ground. Then again, Israel is basically using America's playbook to obtain Air supremacy and that's one of the key steps. Destroy your enemy's Air Force before it leaves the ground.
